So, binged the latest season this past weekend.
Still as good as ever.
Franks latest girlfriend is Peg Bundy, playing a bipolar psychoanalyst off her meds, and Bob Saget has a cameo as a priest, telling sex tales of his time in the navy. Hilarious stuff.
Also, going back a few posts, for those people who said they missed Mickey, you will have to turn in next season.

I still like it but with both Fiona and Ian leaving, hope they end it.
I like Lip and Carl but don't feel they can carry a show the same way.

Technically I think this was only the first half of the season and the second half is coming in January. At least according to Wikipedia.

It will be different for sure. As much as Frank is the go-to guy, Fiona IMO is the main character and all story lines run through her somehow. Shameless is one of those shows that can go on for a long time and maintain quality. But it will be difficult without Fiona and Ian. I had no idea Ian was leaving either, but the last episode he appeared makes sense.
I know the UK show has 11 seasons. I watched the first season and it seems the US version mirrors it pretty accurately. Maybe someone who has completed the UK version can comment if it continues to follow the same story lines as the US version throughout.

Hard to maintain such a high level of quality over that many seasons. Definitely went down hill for the last couple but overall one of my favourite shows ever.

Yup, I checked out a few episodes into the post Fiona era.
I tried and it just didn't stick. Emmy Rossum and her character were the glue that kept that show great. For me Lip was a close 2nd and the rapport they had between them was important.
I liked all the characters but Fiona ( as the oldest left to fill in for an absent partent) was the one I related to the most.
Agreed. I wanted a bit more closure on the stories.
This was the same for me. I enjoy closure in series ending episodes. Yes there is a chance for an offshoot down the road, but I don't see it happening and the open ended side of it was unnecessary and left an empty feeling
