I would say there’s a better than 50% chance Matthews stays in Toronto.
He’s a god there.
If there’s a particularly spectacular playoff flame out the year his deal expires, and if they haven’t been able to achieve any success, I could see him leaving.
But the smart money says the team with the most of it is going to lock him up as soon as they’re able.

Watched some of the Sabres coyotes game with my son, after a while he asks "will any of these guys make the NHL?"
Neither of those teams look good, we had more fun saying "great save Carol"

Sound logic. But this is Vegas we are talking about. I think Toronto will continue to choke with their top heavy, flawed roster and he'll leave. Vegas with him would be unstoppable and they always go after, and get, the newest, shiny toy

Super happy for him. It didn't work out here, it happens. You could tell it was really getting to him, like hockey wasn't even fun anymore. Hopefully he just kills it all year
