Halloween Kills was bad.
I guess at least it had decent kills and cinematography, but the overall story and writing (including weird exposition dumps) made it feel clunky and uneven. The original was such a monumental movie that essentially created an entire genre, disappointing how most of the sequels have been bad.

Watched Kate last night.
It seems that these films need to be made to look like video game massacres these days.. Following it is like watching someone play a one man shooter game online.
It has its moments, it definately has tons of gore and fighting scenes as the protagonist tries to find the person responsible for giving her a drug that gives her 24 hours to live. Sound familiar? Even Woody Harrelson can't save this film. 5.5/10

Exceeded my expectations, loved it.

Seeing her go from Villanelle to Free Guy was a shock. It wouldn't surprise me she does dramas well.

Aw, I was encouraged by the trailers.
"Evil dies tonight!" is a great line.

Well you're in for a treat because it's said 100 times!
I guess looking online the consensus is this movie is 100% padding for Halloween Ends next year. Hopefully that one lands the plane of this trilogy, but I have serious doubts after this one.

Just finished Halloween Kills. Good, not great. Ending was awesome though.
But I agree with AC on the clunkyness of it.
Some bad cut aways just took you right out of it.
I see what they were trying to do, just executes poorly.

The Velvet Underground doc on Apple TV+ is fantastic. The Avante-Garde film style fits with their music so well.

Last Duel was good. 7/10
Very Ridley Scott.
Pretty sure Adam Driver was the only actor in set who could actually pronounce their names tho.
Adam Driver - "Monsieur Jean de Carrouges"
Ben Affleck - "Mister Jack Carriage"

VIFF just ended a week ago and I managed to catch a very interesting and well done movie called "Azor".
Set in Argentina in 1980 when a couple years after the military coup and thousands of citizens were disappearing. With all of this happening in the background a Swiss banker and his wife has make an emergency trip to Buenos Aires to meet with some his banks biggest clients in the area. There is an ominous tone throughout the film that is set against what seems like the mundane tasks of a banker trying to ensure his clients keep their money in his bank. I won't give much away but the movie itself is beautifully shot and I found it somewhat mesmerizing to watch and gives a different look at what military coup can look like. Would recommend to those who enjoy a story that is more understated and doesn't have a lot of expositional dialogue.

Not sure what people's apatite for Artsy movies is but I watched Tale of Tales and Hedge Hog in the Fog by Yuri Norstein and both were enjoyable.

Yay, poor movie, IMO.

No Time to Die was very enjoyable. Hans Zimmer was in full force, and it was as pretty to look at as Skyfall.
Watch The Many Saints of Newark at home. If you spend for it in theatres, you won’t think it was worth it.
As a streaming product, it’s fine. It has the decency to clock in at 2 hours even.

Watch Chaos Walking on Prime, it was good enough to watch. Space Western with Tom Holland, protect the girl from the violent posse. I think it's the 3rd Tom Holland non-spidey film I've seen and his best effort for sure.

I've read that 10 times and can't understand what you mean.
I thought that was a great movie but a tough, tough watch.

The Many Saints of Newark was totally fan service. And as a hardcore Sopranos fan, it was awesome.
They set up a prequel continuance and I'm entirely in. They did it right, in the same way the Deadwood Movie did, except the latter was a cap.
Give me more.

Sorry, I thought it was a poor movie. Disjointed and messy (but maybe that reflective of his life). I agree the ending we hard to watch, but only because it brought back memories of when my buddy took his life.

Yup. Bombed hard. It was beat handily by Adam’s Family 2. In its 3rd weekend.
Quote:
Rounding out the Top 5 was the weekend’s biggest disappointment, 20th Century Fox’s The Last Duel. Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Adam Driver and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer in addition to Damon and Affleck, the R-rated action-drama hobbled away from its opening weekend with just $4.8 million in North American ticket sales.

Dune is out on the internet in ... places.
Do yourself a favour and see it in the theatre. As someone who knows nothing about Dune, the movie was fantastic. I'll be going to see it again on the big screen.
Maybe people who are invested in Dune from the books won't like it as much or something, but I thought it was legitimately awesome.
