Boston is a very good team it sounds like Calgary outplayed them. More speed.

The Flames owned almost all of that game. Loads of Flames jerseys around the stadium too

Shootouts are always lame way to end a hockey game. Flames looked great and completely outplayed the bruins. Fun comeback. Flames were definitely the better team. Halak stole this one. More entertaining than all of last year. Lots to be happy about.

Stone and Kulak didn’t seem to get much ice time in the 3rd.

Yeah the ability to come back was a great thing for CGY. This team is so much better. It’s going to be a great year.

Calgary outplayed Boston, but Halak outplayed us.
Obvious rust on both sides. Can't read too much in to the first pre season game - but it was fun to watch. Now I have work in 2 hrs. Good night CP

A coach shortening a bench trying to make a (successful) comeback?
The Gulutzan era is OFFICIALLY over.

so much to be excited about. This season is going to be fun.
I would love to see Czarnik playing with Bennett and Janko. Make it happen next game.
Overall, that was more fun than most games last season. So pumped.
Next game, I think the lines should be:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Tkachuk
Bennett - Lindholm - Neal
Frolik - Backlund - Czarnik
Hathaway - Janko - Ryan
Mix it up a lot, see how it goes.
Once the team is back home, I would love to see Dube in the mix and Hathaway out. That would really give us 4 lines to roll. The depth is amazing this season. Love it.

Halak was a beast in goal and the difference maker through 3 periods. Covered the lower part of the net well and stymied the Flames on many occasions.
Liked what I saw from Czarnik on the PP. Has good hands and a great shot.
Derek Ryan looked good on the PP and on the line with Frolik and Czarnik. Could be a nice addition this season.
Gillies struggled in the first period and at times looked lost on the bigger ice surface. Settled in and made some timely saves in the last 2 periods.
Forwards gave up too many odd man rushes to the Bruins. The defence at times got caught pinching also.
Flames dominated on the bigger ice surface and were able to cycle the puck and make some nice passes and plays in the Bruins end.
The PP looks to be a work in progress. I thought there was too much over passing and players looking for the perfect play/shot.
Lindholm seems to be a good fit on the top line. Made some nice plays and came close to potting a few goals
Over all I liked what I saw.
