That clip with Gene Principe and Mark Spector reminded me of the hilariously unbelievable things Oilers reporters and play callers have said in their illustrious run of mediocrity. Does anyone remember when Drew Remenda said this in 2016–17?

And I can understand why. It's safe to say both are some sort of horrifying mutant creature, created as a result of excessive chemical dumping.

Ty Rattie not playing?
That means Ryan Pulock (5 goals) might pass him for the preseason goal title!

Oh well, I'm sure those two will fight for the Richard trophy.

The ‘mo’s are getting killed at home by the Bombers (24-3 at this point) providing yet more evidence that Edmonton is no good.

I briefly listened to the game yesterday on CHED to hear Stauffer blow hard.

But in the adds for the “ice District” they refer to it as YEGas.

YEGas! Just when I thought they couldn’t do something more pathetically stupid... they find a way.

Wow, that city is so insecure, just yearning for some semblance of being relevant or popular. In other words, no good.

Yeah, that’s pretty weak alright. That said, the Ice District is shaping into a jewel in downtown Edmonton as Katz (and former Mayor Mandel) predicted it would.

Oilers waive Pontus Aberg. Man, Chiasson really is gonna make that team, hey?

Isn't Gulutzan looking after the forwards and PP for the Oilers?

I give it 10 games before Chiasson rides shotgun for McDavid in place of Rattie, but I don't think it will take that long. Chiasson will go on a short run of success before regressing to the mean. Gulutzan will keep him on the 1st line for the rest of the season and increase his PP time citing his early success as proof of being the best fit.

I am so glad we are rid of Gulutzan. I don't mind Chiasson in a 4th line role.

Chiasson was playing a regular shift for the cup champs... shouldn't be surprised he cracked the Oilers

His time as the new shining toy was indeed very short. Wasn't he supposed to solve all their problems when they got him? I suppose Ty Rattie is that guy now, but still...

Don't forget the excellent "LOILTY" tagline. It manages to both mock the team and represent the spelling capacity of their average fan.

No, he wasn’t. He’s a 3rd/4th line role player, and he does so effectively.

I don’t think so. Is it better than the previous empty lots? Partially.

If jewel means an amateur sport funds destroying, hobo infested, urine smelling, wind whipping, driving and parking mess, in a soviet era taxpayer funded boondoggle, then yes, jewel.

That's not really what the hype train went on about when they traded for him though, and when he subsequently scored a bunch of points at the end of last season. I'd say he was penciled in as a regular, not as being waived before the start of the season.
