Chicago trades Nick Schmaltz to Arizona for Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
It looks like the ARIZ/CHI pipeline is flowing again. Hearing Nick Schmaltz going to the Coyotes, working on the rest.
Schmaltz is a 1st round pick from 2014. He scored 21g 31a in 78 games last season.
Currently at 2g 9a in 23 games.
update:
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Im not sure if other picks/prospects involved, but it appears as if main parts of deal are Schmaltz to ARIZ and Strome/Perlini to CHI.

If it's pretty much Schmaltz for Strome, I like the trade for the Coyotes.

Looks like Perlini is in the deal too?

If you really want a clearer picture of what Dylan Strome can deliver you should pick him in your hockey pool.
You won’t thank me later.

Holy. Chi grabbing Perlini is a nice grab. I've always like Perlini, he showed today he's got the net drive that most teams love and I think CHI is the perfect place for him to open up offensively.

I like this trade for Chicago. IIRC Strome and DeBrincat played together in Lake Erie.
EDIT: What? They get Perlini too? Absolute steal for Chicago.

Arizona is the poorest managed team in the league. How can you be so bad for so long and not have a single 1st line player?

Schmaltz seemed like a fluke last season too. If theres anywhere strome could get going its Chicago. he'll probably play with debrincat and kane. Good sell high buy low for them imo.

Winner of the trade? Chicago
Loser? No one
Strome has great potential and is going to excel with Patty Kane. Perlini also has too 6 potential and fits in well there.
The reason why I don’t think the coyotes necessarily lose is because strome was going nowhere with them and schmaltz is still a big upgrade on perlini. Schmaltz should help them a lot

This feels like a steal for Chicago.
I feel like Perlini and Schmaltz are a wash, and Chicago gets to see if Strome can work with Kane or Toews too.
