Flames Elias 'Fricken Zebulon' Lindholm!

After a relatively stressful first couple games, it's a good time for a new 'fricken' player thread and fresh off a big 3 point performance, Elias is earning it thus far with his takeaways, tenacity, and finish.

He looks to be a bright new fixture for the top trio, complementing his linemates' games, and a threat on the PP. Glad we have this guy to play with Gaudreau and Monahan for the forseeable future! I suspect we'll have a lot of gifs of this kid over the course of the season.

Too early to anoint anything on one player, obviously.

Jokes aside, god Lindholm is awesome. Best RW Gaudreau and Monahan have had at least since Hudler and it wouldn't shock me one bit to see him surpass Huds by miles. He's so good offensively and super tenacious.

The better Elias!
Always a fan of his. Still has room to grow, and I think he will on this team.

With that shot in his arsenal and a career high of just 16 goals there is definitely room for growth with this kid.

Looks like Treliving has found his long term fit on the top line. Look forward to watching those 3 for the next several years.

Been on this train since before the trade rumor broke. Probably about a month before then.

Having followed Elias since the draft year and even before then, I knew he was someone the Flames should be targeting this offseason. then to nab him along with 21 year old Noah Hanifin was this fans dream come true. And at the expense of two players I was never truly fond of on top of that.

Look, the season is long and I am sure there's going to be some ups and down but the intangibles Lindholm brings consistently will make whatever line he plays on better. If they use his other proficiencies like they have been early on, there's no way of telling how high this ends. Sky is the limit for this player on this team. He is a weapon. A dog on the puck and he's finally rounding into man form to body people off the puck. which was a thing for him in Carolina. just needed a bit more beef and experience.

We stole this guy. I swear it.

I know it's only 2 games, but he looks like a natural fit on that top line. GMBT could come out at the end of the year looking like a genius with the contract he signed him too.

I could totally see 600 goals, and 1300 points out of him in his career

Jokes aside, we have a core piece for the future here. Maybe he can live up to the 5th overall hype and fit right in the 13/23/19 category

I was a huge fan of the trade because I love the upside of the players we got. In terms of Lindholm i think he is a player that is on the verge of a breakout and he had a lot more to give than the 40 pts a year he has been scoring. A lot of Swedes hit their primes in their later 20’s like Backlund, Sedins, Naslund so hopefully we have Lindholm for the 6 most productive years of his career on what will be considered a steal of a contract.

Always interesting to start watching acquired players in the local jersey, you see them so differently than in a far and away market.

My view was he was a better 200 foot player, was more versatile and brought other things to the table that Ferland didn't (face offs, better two way game, PK). Those are all true.

But what I didn't know is how physically strong the kid is. He doesn't get knocked off the puck and he seems to come out of every run in standing and with the puck. His play on the wall has been impressive.

If he puts it together in the finishing category this trade will really start to look good for Calgary.

Ferland’s shot is excellent. However, Lindholm’s second goal from Johnny’s feed was superb. Received the pass and blistered it in an instant. Great to see.

Now if only he could find a talented center to pair in between his two wingers
