Default What are you getting people for Christmas?

I was wondering about a gift for my best friend. She lives on the top floor of a four floor condo building and it always freaks me out a little. It's certainly too high to jump from. You might be able to slow down a bit if you hit the tree below, but likely just enough to survive and be miserable for the rest of your life.

So I think this year I have to go with a climbing harness, 150 m rope and figure 8 belay/rappel device. You could probably rapp off the corner post of the deck railing. There are four big bolts anchoring it. Or you could punch out the window next to the door and anchor off the framing between the two. That would be the best. I don't know how people live so high up with no way down.

Or just one of those stupid fancy Dyson hair dryers. Those things cost more than some of the vacuums. Everybody wants one of those this year.

Dogs are getting Matrioshka boxes full of kleenex and cardboard tubes to shred inside bigger and bigger boxes full of toys and more shredding paper. It's tradition.

What's under the tree for your people this year?

I got my nephew a few different National Geographic science kits, and my niece a small guitar.

As adults, instead of secret Santa, we just do stocking stuffers as gifts. Every year my sister gives us each a travel sized bottle of wine or beer and a rolled up Pro-Line ticket. This year I got everyone absolutely terrible, ugly t-shirsts. My boyfriend got everyone booze flavored candies. The price limit pet person is $20, and with the size of my family that adds up to $100 each. It's a lot of fun, we open each stocking stuffer one by one, and at the end we just party.

This is my favourite time of the year.

I think that's one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever heard of. Nice job.

Bought my oldest kid a Amazon Fire Tablet with a case as our 7 year old iPad he uses is slowly crapping out. He’s also getting an ‘advance’ on the Mario Bros. Deluxe Switch game (can’t believe they didn’t get that out before Christmas...)

My youngest is getting Feed Me Cookie Monster and some other baby-ish things.

They’re both getting Dinosaur Fingerlings.

Pretty low key this year, money has been tighter.

Gift cards. Not because I'm lazy but because that's all my family wants other than my niece who wants a WWE shirt. I also got my sister a CD of the Metallica show we went to in September in Winnipeg.

We have a Chinese gift exchange for the adults in my family and this year we're getting $50 worth of weed to see who's in on it.
