I must admit it's refreshing to see a media group willing to take the coaching to task. 960 has a Montreal guy on air right now and he's raising fair critique but at the same time I feel he's drastically overrating the talent on that team.

Weren’t they all talking about bringing in a new coach from outside? The Habs haven’t done that.

If the Habs can do it, so can the Flames.

Julien has lasted this long because they paid him so damned much.

They were referring to everyone wanting ward to get fired, and they won't do it because of the pandemic... meanwhile we have more more enough people that could run this team for the remainder of the season, or at least for the short term.

I've stopped questioning Begervin's moves. I've disliked almost all of them and they seem to work out OK. Certainly not afraid to do what he thinks should be done.

Lol. They are 9-5.

Nice to see a GM who isn’t satisfied with mediocrity.

Doesn't Joel Bouchard coach their farm team? I know he's quite highly thought of as an up and coming head coach at the NHL level.

That team does not look great on paper - I don't think coaching is the problem.

Not surprising when you're being owned by the Sens. Bergy had to act fast, he's next on the chopping block if this doesn't turn around.

They are 9-5-4.
Were they 9-5, I don't think they would be firing him.

No, they're 9-5-4. Those extra 4 losses aren't nothing.

They were 7-1-2 to start the season.

The Sens are playing better of late

Will be interesting to see how this ages once the Flames are done with Toronto tonight and play 5 out of 6 vs the Sens

Yeah I'm in the same camp but I'm not sure how great his moves end up in the long run as they are not a lot different than the Flames in that they are kind of mired in mediocrity. As you say he's certainly not afraid to make big moves. Time will tell if this one works but there's always the chance it could blow up in his face as it's not like they are the Canucks where they have nothing to lose at this point as the Habs for the most part are where most of us thought they would be in the division.

A little unfortunate for the Flames that they didn't get to play the Senators early when they were really struggling out of the gates. They are certainly playing a better team game now than they were when the Canucks and Oilers were getting free points from them.

Yes. Can pick from a hat for all I’d care. The current system is not working. Team is not ready for games. Adaptations between and during games seem poor. Heck, if it’s just to cover off quarantine time for a veteran coach, I’ll take Harvey the Hound.
