Why no Mane, starting?
This United team needs to go for blood in the second half. Couldn’t be more fortunate considering the number of starters missing in Liverpool’s 11.

I’ve seen more of Bruno on the bench than Donny on the pitch

Allison on a roll now at costing Liverpool games.
vdB was a passenger. Just looked lost and not sure what to do. Worst player on the pitch just ahead of that Rhys Williams fella.
Good win and nice to get Bruno and Fred rested.

didn't see the game, but very happy with that result obviously. Good to see Greenwood with a goal and an assist.

I believe in the Jays.

Liverpool aren’t winning anything with these CBs. Mistakes all over the place again from Williams. Our only hope is Matip staying healthy, which just isn’t going to happen.

He'll not last long. Probably the only reason he's there is that he's home grown and getting a chance but he looks well out of his depth.

So what’s the deal then?
That epic 18/19, Ajax team with de Jong, de Licht, Ziyech, van der Beek.. all sold, to big money clubs.
Yet, Donny, looks like a miss.
Was he a product of superior talent surrounding him?
Similar to what happened today?

Honestly. Don't know.
He deserves at least some sort of chance. But no doubt he wasn't good today and looked lost to the point that sometimes he even looked as if he was getting in the road taking away Cavani's space. Then there was that time on a breakaway when he was one on one with Fabinho when instead of trying to make something happen he stopped to hold up play.
He wasn't terrible to the point he hurt the team but just looked lost. Like he didn't know his role on the team. So who knows? Maybe he just needs a fun of games but today wasn't that confidence inspiring.

Tuchel about to come in. Going to be interesting ... they'll probably improve a bit, but I'd be shocked if that went well behind the scenes. Tuchel locks horns with everybody, I can't imagine how he and Granovskaia could make that work.

I don't think he's there long.
I think they just want somebody who might be able to unlock Havertz and Werner...maybe even start by playing them in their best positions.

Was only able to beat Liverpool, by another Bruno dead-ball.
So that pedestrian, narrative continues.

Yeah, Athletic reported that they tried to get Rangnick to run out the season, and then to move to another role. He declined. They also tried to reach out to RB re Nagelsmann and were rebuffed, so now Tuchel. I don't know if they circle back to Nagelsmann in the summer... I guess it depends on Tuchel's success to some extent.
Interesting tidbit that was revealed is that Lampard really wanted to buy Rice and Chilwell this past summer, as well as Ziyech and Aubameyang last winter. Mendy was also on his insistence. The club was against buying Rice, and thought that Kepa should have been handled better. All the other purchases were made by the club. Maybe Lampard isn't as stupid as we thought.

Chelsea is such a double edged sword of a job. Unlimited resources, but minimal job security. No surprise that they cycle through managers consistently.

Dodged a bullet there. It's too bad though, as I was hoping that Frank would stick around because with a decent manager they're a contender for top 4. With Frank, not so much.

yeah I saw that. I get that buying back a former youth player for a lot of money isn't the greatest of looks, but IMO it was the wrong line in the sand to draw. Rice would have been absolutely perfect for them. Also the goalie situation: it's not Lampards fault that they wasted a ridiculous amount of money on Kepa. He realized that he needed somebody else, and that's it. But that's where a manager and the board will inevitably clash and the manager will always lose this battle.
not that I think Frank was great or anything, I felt he was overrated to begin with and I seldomly saw a real plan when I watched Chelsea this season. But yeah, hard to argue with his ideas to bring in those players.
