Which is the benefit of something like the odyssey g9... you don't feel like you have to turn your head.

I like the idea of the CX as a gaming monitor but they need either a different aspect ratio or a size in the mid 30s.

They’re hitting that this year. They’re doing a 43” OLED, and a a 32” OLED coming out in 2021.

Anyone else having problems with the Nvidia drivers and the 30 series cards and know how to fix it? I'm getting a driver crash every 15-20 minutes that results in 5s or so of black screen every time. Every time the driver crashes it resets the brightness settings on my monitor to eye searing high nit levels and I have to turn it back down again in the Nvidia display settings. Driving me nuts. Gaming is pretty stable, seems to happen only when I'm on desktop working.

Apparently other ppl having issues too and they haven't fixed it in 3 months.

Try underclocking the card 5%-10% I bet it stops. Which brand is it? My Zotac had this issue

It's the ASUS Dual OC RTX 3070 on the latest 461.72 drivers... yea maybe it's the factory overclock. Will install MSI Afterburner and see how this goes. Not sure about the POSCAPs/MLCC issue.

Ok I don’t know if the 3070 had the same issues but it’s the same error so either that or a really bad chip in that card. I would try and see and if it fixes it and can live with it good if not RMA ASAP.

Talking with AMD is agonizing, there's a 2 day turnaround with each email.

But now they're telling me they have no record of any RMA for the CPU with my serial number.

So who's wrong? AMD? Memory Express? I guess I continue the tennis match and bounce back to asking MemEx for more details.

At this point they're both terrible.

Underclocking to the non-OC model clocks seems to have done the trick, I haven't had a driver crash for the last day so far but will keep watching it.

Whole thing is pretty stupid that these OEMs are selling cards that aren't stable at their defined clocks.

I recently wiped my PC and totally forgot to apply the underclock, I haven't had an issue so not sure if a Bios update was applied sometime in the last few months or what is happening. Pretty crazy to pay these prices for unstable hardware.

So online people have been complaining this is an issue for more than 4 months and still no bios fixes if its the same problem.

Its kinda weird though, in desktop I'm not even remotely running top at the max clocks, afterburner is showing I'm at like 200Mhz most of the time. You'd think it'd be the higher end clocks that would be causing instability but most of the time it crashes I'm in a teams call or I'm in outlook answering an email.

Was thinking it's about time to build a new PC, this one is getting old. Looked on MemEx site, apparently now isn't a good time.

Hah, nope. I built mine in early summer and thought it wasn't a good time either, now sucks even more.

Now's a good time to start collecting parts, with the intention of finalizing your build in 3-4 months.

Just refuse to pay more than MSRP for anything and you'll be fine.

At one point, I thought there was a shortage of power supplies around the world. Memory Express has an crap ton of them on the shelf right now.

It's like GME stock, better buy in now, no better time than now, it's going to the moon!

Here I'm all stocked up on toilet paper and disinfecting wipes when I should have been investing in video cards.

So now Memory Express is saying that the RMA was approved by AMD weeks ago to replace my 5900X but they had missed it. So I'm supposed to get a call as soon as they get any CPUs in.

Unreal. I've been buying from MemEx for 20+ years but that's p unacceptable.

On the plus side, 5900x stock seems to be more viable lately, most of the EU has standing stock.
