My face is a bum!

That would be awesome for Tommy, but please please can you wait a few years until we get this thing nice and established? He's an amazing ambassador for the team.

If Tommy were to leave, I would be completely okay with Martin Nash stepping in to manage the club. He's been with the group since the PDL winning days and is ready for the move up one of these years.
Longer term, I could see one of Ledgerwood, Jay Wheeldon or Ryan Gyaki at the helm of Cavalry.

Yeah I was going to say, Nash next and Ledgerwood later would be something I'd be comfortable with for this club. That said, I hope Tommy stays as long as possible; best head coach and GM in the league. Players love him too, has a great reputation, which I'm sure is a huge asset in attracting players to play here. Carducci, Zator for the national team, and now Farsi for the Olympic team, are examples of his strong development and incubation of talent.

Not sure Gyaki is in that conversation. I could see Leon Hapgood before any of those guys actually. He’s the technical director at Foothills currently, while Jay is still getting his coaching certifications.
Edit: maybe Nash before Leon

Cavalry sign David Norman Jr. to a multi year deal. Was with Inter Miami last year and Vancouver Whitecaps before that.
Good player for this level, but I don't really see how he addresses the club's weaknesses. Maybe one of Simmons or Adekugbe are moving on.

Perhaps they have plans to play him on a wing or up top? Or maybe you're right and were set to lose an established midfielder.

Sounds like he can slot in at CB if needed. That would make a little more sense.

Rumours popping up of a Canadian Div 2 launching in 2022. Seems like it would serve as a replacement for USL League Two, a short season that mostly caters to University players, but with some pro opportunities as well.

Interesting! I wonder if this would mean the end of AMSL. Winners of the AMSL currently meet the League One winners at Nationals as-is, so this would make sense.
I'd like to see this proposed league as the 2nd division to the CPL, as there's just not enough talent in this country to have three professional or semi-pro leagues.

Hmm, maybe a second national cup season, played concurrent to Majors? Article, says it’d be a 12 team league.
So spitballing; 2BC, 2AB, 3 ON, 3 QC, 2Rest, qualified based upon previous season. I feel there’s room for more games in AMSL season, but you’d likely have to sacrifice a local cup. For the best, as competition would be better.

I believe in the Jays.

It would be pretty great to have a promotion and relegation system. I know they said that was the goal from the beginning, but I didn’t really believe that would happen, let alone this quickly. I hope it happens! We

Looks like the league is finally sharing information on its salary structure and finances. Here's the dirt:
- $1.2 million salary cap. This includes players and technical staff
- Teams must spend between $650-850 thousand on players. This covers salaries, housing and travel allowances.
- No plans to raise the salary cap in 2021.
- Plans to raise the salary cap in 2022.
- Yearly budget is approximately $4 million.
- Minimum player salary of $22000 in 2021, with USports players not included in that minimum.
