Tobias Rieder - Countdown to 10 goals (Needs: 6 g; GR: 25)
Too early? Started this thread just to stick it to the Oilers; and celebrate every goal he scores as rubbing salt in the wound.
I know next to nothing about the player, but I'll predict that he does it by the end of January.
I'm going to enjoy for cheering for this guy every time he hits the ice.
Welcome to Calgary.

Do we start a Lucic countdown to 15 goals too?

If Reider scores zero goals this season and the Flames make the playoffs, I'm definitely blaming him for that

If Toby Rieder scores 10 or 12 goals, we'll probably be in the playoffs.

The Tobias Rieder PTO Experiment has already been a success, thanks to Saturday's performance. At this point, anything more is just gravy -- although I fully anticipate more Chiadenfreude to come (Rieder is German, after all)...

I want Rieder to switch to #97 just before opening night.

Or just before the first BOA.
And claim it's totally unrelated, he just loves the ring of the number. Watch the edmonton columnists heads explode a la Mars Attacks.

Both Rieder and Lucic outscoring Neil would be the saltiest outcome of all time

Remember, if Reider scores 12 goals, even if its at the 8 game mark Calgary automatically clinches a playoff spot.

Reider was awesome as a Coyote. I think he hits 15 goals this year.
and i'm pretty sure he scored 2 shorties in one game against the Oilers.

I was surprised to learn Rieder is only 26 years old. His time in Edmonton made me think he was verging on washed up veteran status.
Definitely a great pick up.

He’ll probably shine here in Calgary now that he doesn’t have to play in the shadow of 5 Giordanos.

They're not exactly the same player so he's not really replacing Hathaway entirely, but I think Lucic/Rieder could be better than Neal/Hathaway, as Lucic can replace the physicality aspect and Rieder the energy and scoring (lol). And they won't be as useless as Neal if they can't score.

Welcome to Calgary.
I was rubbing that last pre season game in at work today.
Was told to eff off more than once.
Mission accomplished, piss off greaser fans.
