It is also an obstinate refusal to give the GM any credit at all. There are some posters here who will weirdly go to the wall to insist that Treliving is seemingly incapable of doing anything competent, to say nothing for "good."

I think it will become apparent over the course of the season that Lucic has become too slow for NHL hockey. If Rosie or Rooney can play the wing, the 4th line will be improved, imo.

I dunno… I don't think you're allowed to take AR15s and AK47s on a plane. They might have to ship them separately on road trips.
That could really disrupt the room.

So has grown an inch and added about 10 pounds.
That's intriguing.

This is a huge raise for him if he is playing in the AHL.
That said would love to see him be a regular on the NHL squad. Unfortunately I dont see a spot open for him unless an injury happens.
|
There's no reason he can't be in the mix for 40+ games this season. Best case scenario - he comes into camp with a major chip on his shoulder and forces his way into the 9-12 forward conversation. Worst case - he has an ok camp but starts the season in the AHL and is a call up after a few weeks.
Players like Lucic, Rooney, Lewis and Ritchie are likely not all going to play full seasons healthy, and really, should be sitting from time to time to keep them fresh and ensure they are at the top of their games. Ruzicka has a far better offensive game than any of these 4 players, so it's simply a matter of him putting it all together at this point.

almost verbatim quote
"He is an intriguing prospect. He looks fantastic. He's, 6'4", 6'5", 228 lbs. He looks like a mountain, great shape. I'm excited to see him. He got a taste of it last year, so now he has to come in and show progression and grab an opportunity that is in front of him"

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Wow, he sure lost that inch quickly. The guy's rapidly aging.

Great deal for both parties. Obviously tells the payers he's in the long-term plans but it may take some more work on his part to get there. Still getting paid some good scratch if he is sent down because of a numbers crunch or to work on something specific, but the second year there is an expectation to be a full-time player. Nice work by Treliving.
