Really good show this week. Weekend Update was very funny, and I even enjoyed Mooney for once.
Migos though...no thanks.

Really!? I changed the channel after half an hour or so. Charles Barkley and the first few skits were horrible, the audience barely even laughed, and weekend update was just ok for me. Changed it when Mooney came on. Either we have completely different tastes in humor or it improved dramatically the last half of the show.
Did enjoy the skit with A-rod and Barkley though.

Barkley surprised me. He was pretty good. Some pretty funny skits. Roaches with guns, the construction workers, the bizarre bar skit, the homework skit. And after his poor monologue I didn't exactly have high hopes. But he pulled it off quite well.
The skit with Arod was ok but he was bad. He's what I expected Barkley to be like. No stage presence at all, couldn't stop laughing, barely delivered his lines.
The musical guest though. Wow. I don't even know what to say. I don't always watch the musical guests or enjoy them but this was one of the worst I've seen since whatsherface skipped off stage when she got caught lipsyncing.

Maybe it's just because I'm getting older and have no idea what's popular anymore, but they've really been scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of their musical guests this year. I enjoyed Chris Stapleton, and Foo Fighters and U2 were dependably solid. But other than those, it's been a lot of terrible-to-mediocre performers singing equally terrible songs.
Arcade Fire is coming up on the 17th, so that should be decent. I'm not a fan of their two most recent albums, but at least you can count on them to put on a strong performance regardless.

Our generation had the Spice Girls on. As well as other terrible boy bands. I don't think we get to judge musical acts.

Really solid episode last night - I thought Sterling K Brown was excellent, and he was in almost every sketch.
I always enjoy Keenan's Steve Harvey

Oh man Bill Hader is great. The old man skit had me howling. When he accidentally went back to his Irish accent from the previous skit I lost it. And clearly so did the cast.

Great episode. I was dying during Stefon and pretty much all of Weekend Update.
The Irish game show and old man skits were also very funny.

Love Hader.
The Canadian metoo skit was also well done. Great episode!

Hader's very funny. But he cannot control his own laughter and breaks up constantly. And he makes others on the set laugh. Not a good trait for a professional actor. But it is entertaining to watch, that's for sure.
Arcade Fire was pretty bad, I thought. The first song was played on one chord, I'm pretty sure. Composing at its best. And the intent facial expressions while wearing gold foil outfits; seriously...

I'm actually the complete opposite. It was awesome! I heard of Arcade Fire before but never really listened to them. This performance got me listening to a lot of their jams for the first time. many years late mind you haha.
