Yeah, I saw that.
NHL.COM pregame says:
Quote:
It feels great," the Flames captain told reporters after testing the ankle in practice for a second straight day. "Our training staff, our medical staff, everyone, the docs, they did a great job in handling it. I really followed their lead and getting back on the ice the last week and up until today, it's pain free right now, which is obviously a positive, and I feel good. We'll see how it feels tomorrow, but it felt real good today.
Giordano will be re-evaluated after the morning skate Wednesday, at which point the team will decide if he's ready to play against the Coyotes. He was paired with Chris Butler at practice Tuesday.

I like the Russell/Brodie pairing. Some serious puck moving ability there.

4-2-2 with Gio in the lineup. 5-11-2 without.
It will be good to have the Captain back.

Reading that quote fro Gio ragrding how the medical staff has handled the injury makes me happy. Sounds like he has not been rushed back and they have ensured that he is okay long term rather than looking for short term gains. Good job Flames.
Interesting lines, time for Backs and Sven to show a little spark me thinks.

Seems like the way it goes with them, however they are the fourth highest scoring team in the NHL...

After a great win last game I'm worried the flames will come out lackluster 4-3 coyote. flames go down 3 -0 early then make a comeback in the third to fall short.

Finally starting to get relief from all the injuries. Jeeez, the flames have to be the team with the most amount of starters out with injuries, yes? Top 2 defenders, 3 top 6 players (if you count Galiardi as one). Glad to finally have Gio back.
Make it, 3-2 Flames? OT? Goals by Gio, Butler (why not), and Cammalleri?

Gio back would be huge. Even him at 90% is a big improvement on Smith and SOB.
Would like to see Sven playing with Backlund line and D Jones playing with Colborne line.

Getting Gio back will be huge for the team's confidence.

Can't really lose with the result in the game if you are a Flames fan.
Flames win, we'll then Flames win.
Flames lose, Coyotes get more points for the last playoff spot keeping the Canucks back.
Best case, Flames win in OT.

It's impossible to tell which Flames team will show up from game to game - the in your face junkyard dog puck pursuit team, or the Sunday skate on the frozen pond team.
Home game? Check.
First game after time off? Check.
Coming off a win? Check.
Down 2-0 early, then get trapped for 40 minutes against a Tippett team? Check.
3-1, Phoenix gets EN in the final minute, Stajan scores the lone goal for Calgary, since he rarely shows up when it matters.

Not yet anyway, a little premature with the "check".
I hate Pheonix and their style of play.

I think these next 3 games determine Sven's fate.
Hoping he can put up some points and stay up with the big club.
