Bonanza restaurant. There were a few around, but the ones I remember were in the Food for Less (safeway) parking lot on 32nd ave in the NE and on Mcknight and 4st NE, where the Denny's and A&W are now.
I used to eat so much soft ice cream at that place.
This was by far my favorite pizza place, someone report back to us and let us know if its the same; I'd pay to have one fedexed to Iceland if its still awesome lol.

- Consumer's Distributing - got my first "walkman" there - must have been the size of a ghetto blaster
- Woolco
- Pop Shop and Romantika Pizza
- Dale Harney and Buckshot of course
- mom took me and my brothers to see 1941/The Jerk at Studio 82
- Bob' burgers
- .99 highballs @ Hollywood North
- drooling over Kuwahara's at South Cycle
- going to A&W on McLeod and turning on the headlights to get served
- Peepers South
- Franky and Johnny's
- Malarkys - only time arrested
- getting kicked out of the theaters at South Centre for drinking

LOL, my girlfriend is 11 years younger than me, and I was trying to explain to her who Buckshot was. I stumbled cross this little piece. That theme song is great!
What was that music review show? There was a skinny blonde guy who worked in a record shop on 17th and then another not so skinny guy. Bell, rings a bell, Mike Bell maybe?
and CJSW on cable
and Radio Radio on cable

FM MOVING PICTURES
in the mid-80s Mike Muretich hosted his own community access music video show -- FM Moving Pictures -- on Channel 10. Muretich also had his own show on Calgary's campus radio station, CJSW.
I really liked that show, That guy turned me on to Bauhaus when I was 16 or 17. I remember a clip of him interviewing the members of Duran Duran (before they were big) downtown under that "Family of Man" statue.
Apparently he passed away from a brain tumour about 4 years ago.
Found this old video of his show on YT. You can catch a few seconds of Mike at the end of Tau Ceti playing in studio.
Can I be the only one that misses The Cove? How about The Beacon?
Hmm. Looks like we are both right... My curiosity got the best of me.
"In late 1987, Safeway acquired the 26 Woodward's Food Floors, which operated in the western Canadian provinces of British Columbia (16 stores) and Alberta (10). These stores were later rebranded as Woodward's World of Food."
..."In western Canada, shortly before the Woodward's retail chain was sold off to the Hudson's Bay Company, and then closed by HBC in 1993, Safeway rebranded Woodward's Food Floors and World of Food stores to Safeway stores, though the interior of some locations kept the World of Food decor for several years, before being renovated into full-fledged Safeways."
