Missing intitial 3080 stock may be a blessing for content creators/people with high VMEM usage requirements:

I got the same thing when I ordered my H1 and it took an extra 2 days to ship, so hopefully it's just an automated thing for you.

sweet, thanks cSpooge.

I'm still debating on which CPU cooler to go with, not sure if I want to go with an AIO or go with a big air cooler like a Noctua D15/Dark Rock Pro 4. Worried about leaking etc and whatnot with the AIO. Compatibility lists show that the big air cooler should fit but will be a tight fit near RAM and not sure how close it will sit to a newer GPU.

The chances of an AIO leaking are pretty slim. Having said that, the difference in cooling between an AIO and a good air cooler like Noctua is very minimal. The deciding factor for me back when I built mine was noise.

My only reason to maybe go with an AIO in my next build is all the big air coolers are too tall to fit in the Lian Li O11 Dynamic I want to use. Otherwise I definitely prefer air.

155mm max and most big air coolers are taller.

Though I really want to use this if it ever comes out lol: https://www.icegiantcooling.com/

Same problem with that though.

The measurements of some of the air-coolers on the custom 3080s are just ridiculous. The EVGA 3080 FTW3 vertical mounted wouldn't clear my Noctua cooler and the only reason it doesn't is because it is 5.38" tall. My 1080ti is 5.28" and it clears, but it's tight. The reason for the extra .1 inch on the EVGA? To accommodate the RGB light bar, because the heatsink actually ends .2 inches before the max card height.

Edit: Jesus, the ASUS ROG Strix is 5.51" tall. Looks like I won't be getting that one either.

Time for a new computer you cheap bastard!

If you're buying a 3080 (FTW no less), you're clearly not going to half ass it.

Are you?

Not a chance.

I'll upgrade when there's a reason to... like when Flight Simulator 2020 supports RTX.

Apparently all of the alerts I set up aren't working, the only one that is consistent is my Chemgear alerts

Any idea the rational at Memory Express with these cards being Final Sale? Seems like it's a bit odd to have that.

Triple-slot card... my SL600m can only support vertical mounting at best a 2.7 slot card. Well, not like I was buying a 3090 anyway.
