You'll love it. Played earlier this year and loved it (pre renovation). Really excited to hear your report on the new holes. You have a full group already?

It's an interclub tourney between Nanton and Turner Valley.
Sorry no room.

Crowsnest signed up to be involved in interclub this year but backed out at the last minute due to not being able to get enough players to play. Time was already booked and people wanted to play that course.

Turned out to be a great day of golf at the Crowsnet. We ended winning the seasonal interclub over Turner Valley by 12 1/2 to 11 1/2. The course was in awesome shape and the construction on the new clubhouse is going well.
Anyhow I snapped a few pics of the course.
A pic of Dion teeing off
A few of the course...…..

Do any of you listen to the No Laying Up Podcast? Fantastic stuff. They just wrapped two episodes on their Ireland golf trip. The Youtube series Tourist Sauce on that trip comes out later this month.
Just a fun golf podcast from a good group of guys who love the game but don't take it too seriously. Most of it is PGA tour focused, but they have a ton of other content as well.

Anyone else try Mickelson preview?
Cool course. The finished holes were in great shape. Greens kept a bit long but surprisingly fast. Decent location but Harmony sure is a randomly placed neighbourhood..
And the sand. Oh my god the sand. Especially #9 that you walk down (not open yet) to finish. Holy crap.

No laying up is what turned me on to Club Pro Guy.
If you haven't listened to that episode, you need to.

Visually,I found #10 to be spectacular.
Lack of yardage markers was a little irritating as I don't carry any aids in that respect.Understandable though.
May start calling it Delacour West as the wind was brutal for the 4 hole preview.Just strong for the 10.

Is it just me or does your handicap INCREASE at the end of the year? I was trending towards single digits a month ago, shooting low/mid 80's, and the last 2 weeks I've shot anywhere from 92 to 100 with no consistency whatsoever.
Irons are no longer pure, I've developed a laser beam 280 yard t shot that goes DIRECTLY left and out of play, and I'm putting like I have oven mitts on my hands.
This game is SO frustrating.

I find my worst golf is after my best golf. I can even tell what's happening - I got to my best golf by focusing on fundamentals and not score. Then when that translates to a good score I tighten up and get in my own head trying to replicate everything that was working instead of just playing loose but focused. So annoying.
"You have to par a hole like this because that's what you were doing to get that 85 last week" - hyperfocus on dropping a 150 yard approach beside the cup, watch adrenaline and pressure slice it 80 yards right.

If you can manage to slice a 150 yard shot 80 yards to the right, I'm impressed. Even I can't manage that.

It was hyperbole, but yeah my biggest enemy is a "C'mon, this has to go exactly where I'm looking" shot, while already thinking about birdie or par, rather than understanding my skill level and creating a much larger target area.
There's no reason for someone like me to be aiming for anything but middle of the green from 130+ yards. But I guess we all get delusional and see that front corner flag and think "well it would be a waste to hit centre green and two putt, may as well just catch the 5 feet of green in front of the flag and then feel like a waste of life when it comes up short".

Completely relying on bad memory, but I remember hearing mid 7000 yds or so from the tips. Again, this course and clubhouse are being designed with the intent of luring the Canadian open.
