I'd totally recommend her right now, but we took her out to dinner with us and she turned out to be a man.

My parents had a cleaning lady for awhile who was a walking explosion of klutz.

I am pretty sure she had broke something in every room she'd been through by the time she finally quit. We used to wonder if she dusted with a hammer. She was nice enough but there were lots of good stories. One time my dad came home early from work for some reason and found her napping on the couch, I guess gearing up for her next path of destruction. She broke my brother's model car and tried to fake putting it back together which also had hilarious results.

As time wore on, she eventually just started dragging more and more saps in like her mom or her daughter to help her clean. My parents never seemed to bust her balls as badly as she busted up their stuff but it sure was a love/hate relationship. Eventually she just quit to start her own business.

For those who care, I did some initial due diligence and:

1. BBB Registered for about 5 years, A+ rating, one service complaint in that time (resolved).

2. Fully bonded and secured; Employees undergo police background checks.

3. Offer a number of options (deep cleaning, general tidying, etc) and a checklist after each service - a nice touch.

4. Limited number of online reviews, but very positive. They appear to be a bit more expensive than other places, but worth the additional dollars.

*BUMP* Did anyone use any services such as the one posted above? Just finishing up some main floor reno's and looking to have a good top-down home cleaning done. I have seen some deals posted on LivingSocial etc, but am a bit leery about stuff like this:

I do almost all of the cleaning like dishes, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, garbage, recycling, etc..., but my wife cleans the bathrooms.

She also insists on doing the laundry, but I usually have to beg her to do it still. She often won't until I threaten to do it myself.

My wife tried a deal through LivingSocial, and it didn't go very well. Really young girl that had no idea what she was doing. We used to have a regular cleaning person, and there was no comparison in the quality.

I read an article that something like 50% - 75% of cleaning services that advertise through Group-On or Living Social end up going bankrupt, as the discounts they have to give and the cut the sites take are so high the demand generated puts them out of business.

Based on the quality of service we got, we wouldn't do it again.

Bump.

Our house cleaner is transitioning to a full time job in a different industry.

Anyone have a house cleaner they use regularly they would recommend? Looking for an affordable, basic monthly clean of a 3 bedroom house.
