I'm a casual fan at best. I've heard about the tease of Hoillet joining the squad for years. Is he still in his prime to be a huge difference maker for Canada? or has the ship sailed for him to be the "saviour". I can imagine he's still a huge boost regardless?

He was great against Ghana. Fast, skillful, taking players on. Head and shoulders above anyone else.

It seems the reason he isn't playing much for Q.P.R these days is that they're trying to freeze him out do to his massive wages.

Looks like the Canada/Honduras game Nov 13 will be on TSN after all. With that news, I've set up a watch party at Barcelona Tavern for anyone who's interested.

Canada's roster for the qualifiers is below. Only real notable omission is Osorio, but I'm not sure he's anything more than a sub in this roster. Ledgerwood is injured.

Akindele was a beast last night in MLS playoffs.

I hate myself for admitting it, but I'm excited and optimistic for Friday. That never bodes well for a CMNT fan

Anyone know how well ticket sales are going? I'd love to see the lower bowl at BC Place packed for this one.

The numbers I read last week were ~15000 tickets sold with ~3000 bought by Hondurans. If Vancouver can sell 20000 with a majority pro-Canadian crowd, it will be a success. Last qualifying campaign Toronto got ~15-17000 for each game.

Looks like Friday's game has almost sold out. That bodes well for the national team.

3000 Hondurans coming to Vancouver for the game? That's impressive. Or are we talking about Hondurans who now call BC home?

Also, Sportchek has Canada jerseys on for $19 (75% off). Stephen Ave shows low stock, but they have none. I had luck at Deerfoot, they are interspersed throughout the clearance racks.

It is great that TSN is showing this game. Is this part of a new TV deal between the CSA and TSN, or just a one-off? I know that the CSA is/was without a TV broadcaster, which is why we were seeing things on web streams and the Telelatino channel.

TSN signed a one year deal to show the 3 home games for this qualification round:

Looks like we have the private dining room at Barcelona Tavern for our watch party tonight, meaning sound is a go. If we provide them enough business I'm sure they would love to have us back for more games. Hopefully these watch parties will be bigger and better with each game.

I can't believe at least WC qualifiers are shown regularly in Canada.

I'm out of town this weekend, but I believe I still owe you for scarves? I'd like to make it out to one of these.

It's been really dry and a money losing proposition. Canada has to earn it's fans (and the networks) back. No HEX since 1998.

GOOOO CANADA!
