Max Reinhart and Markus Granlund
What does everyone think about Reinhart and Granlund?
They both should be pushing for spots next year.
It was the rookie season for Granlund.
Reinhart had a much better second season.

Max Reinhart
Regular Season - 66 games played - 21 goals - 42 assists
Playoffs - 4 games - 1 goal - 3 assists
Markus Granlund
Regular Season - 52 games played - 25 goals, 21 assists
Playoffs - 4 games - 2 goals - 3 assists

Would hope that they are on the Flames next season.
I would swap these two for Jones and Galiardi anyday.

I think they have a legitimate chance at landing on the roster next year. There are also some other players that will be close to making the Flames next year too. A little too early to making predictions but Reinhart and Granlund played well enough to get serious consideration,

I think it will be a battle for two available forward spots at training camp next year... Baertschi, gaudreau, granlund, and Reinhart will all be in the running for those spots.

They have both proven they can score at the AHL level now they have to prove it at the NHL level. I think Granlund has the better chance but I like Max too.

I think both of them will likely play more games in the NHL than the AHL next season, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they've both played their last AHL game.
I also think, at this point, Granlund has passed Sven on the organizational depth chart.

As of right now it's going to be a tough camp. Sven, max, granlund, and Johnny hockey trying for 2 spots. And that's right now , just imagine if the flames pick up a couple of ufa forwards. I got to think the new GM will pick up at least one top 9 forward in the ufa market.

No need to rush Granlund. Max should be ready by now.

Judging by NHL performance, isn't Granlund more ready than Reinhart?

Agreed on both points.
Based on what both Granlund and Reinhart showed this year, their development might be best served playing slightly out of their league for a full year.

Yes, but Reinhart's will be entering his 4th professional year. If he doesn't begin taking a spot for himself, he will start entering the conversation of AHL all star, rather than NHL player.
Granlund will only be entering his 2nd pro season. You can't "hurt" his development really having him on the farm. At the mid way point give or take (or if injuries crop up) then sure.
A lot of this will hinge on how they are in the DC and the preseason.

I see Max making the 3rd line and Granlund/Sven fighting for a spot.

Next season will be Reinhart's third pro season, the final year of his ELC.

Reinhart should start. He looks a little nervous once called up, but I think if we keep him up for a while he'll hit his stride like Byron did this year.

Yeah, next season will only be Reinhart's 3rd year pro.....and he tripled his offensive production in year two while remaining a solid defensive player as well.

Reinhart up granlund back to the ahl, i think granlund can be big time if we let him overrripe in the ahl. reinharts great but hes more of a good 3rd line type.

I feel that Reinhart makes the team, and Granlund battles Baertchi and Johnny for a roster spot.

Unless Granlund is going to be in the top 6 then I think he ought to have one more year in the minors. If someone like Backlund or Stajan is moved then, yes I think he could make the cut, but I think it's unlikely. If there are no spots at C open then he'll be battling with Sven & Gaudreau for a spot on the wing.
I would rather he play top line minutes as a natural centreman in the AHL. Better for his development.
Reinhart is a different story entirely because he is 100% ready to play a bottom
6 role in the NHL. He replaces Galiardi for me.

I sincerely hope that none of our prospects find themselves in Abbotsford next season.

Both had great seasons ....
I think Granlund has the greater upside offensively, but Reinhart has the edge to make the team next year given the fact that he can start in the bottom six, while Granlund really isn't suited for fourth line duty.
The Flames could play a three scoring line option and open up a spot I suppose, but Reinhart can step in anywhere.
I'll add a poll
