He will probably finish -3 or so... 4 shots back.....after tomorrow he will be 1 or 2 shots back....by Saturdays end he will be in the lead or tied for it....then on Sunday will win it.

Book it!!

I find it funny how serious the broadcasters take it - the sedate music, the flowery language.

I know. It's hard to take it serious sometimes because how overly serious they take it. Pictures of a serene lake with some clinky piano music, deep sombre voice overs.

Most of that stuff is mandated by the Masters committee. And as broadcasters you do it or you are removed...period. Its the same reason gary McCord is not allowed to do this tournament though he is one of the senior guys on the CBS golf crew.

Not sure how much it is the TV guys or the actual Masters people.

I read an article in Golf Digest a few years ago while waiting at the doctor's office and it said the rules for broadcasting the Masters are INSANE!

They MUST say bunker when referring to a sand trap, there are other names they can't say too but I forget.

There was other stuff about what they can show too. They can't show the course marshalls or anything like that. Everything must be completely within the rules etc.

Tiger misses a birdie putt on 16. He looked peod for putting through the break.

Still at -3 and on to the last 2 holes.

No sillier sounding sports fan on the planet than those folks that roar "get in the hole" on a tee shot on a par 3.

Quite the boo boo by Tiger at the final 2 holes. Could've been -4, instead a -2.

Now I hate Tom Waston even more!

David Feherty always has to be super careful what he says on 15.

The Masters, for me, is like holding onto a really big collection of gas for a week. It's like having my buttocks surgically clenched at Augusta General Hospital on Wednesday, and surgically unclenched on Monday on the way to Hilton Head."

His golf game has been very inconsistant since his return form knee surgery. Missing fairways with his drives and wonky putting. Has an up hill battle for this years Masters.

Yup very difficult to come back after surgery. I think it will be an accomplishment if he wins one major this year.

Could be. I just think his lack of playing is hurting his game right now. I suspect the more he plays the better he gets.

There was also talk of the memories of his knee problem could be in the back of his mind. Sort of affecting his swing.

I think the US Open will be a good test of where his game is.

You guys sound like you are writing Tiger off for this tournament already.

I wouldnt be surprised in the least if he is within 2 or 3 shots of the lead after tomorrow.

Not writing him off. I expect he'll put in a better performance tomorrow. Just not sure his game is at the level to win the Masters.

That said i hope he proves me wrong.

I'm writing him off. There are many many good players in front of him.

I agree with Dion that the US Open will be a better test. By then he would have had another 4-5 tournaments to get back into the groove. He's just not ready yet.

Even when he won 2 weeks ago you could tell he wasn't really himself.

The first round has always been Woods weakest round at the Masters. Saturday is the day where he tends to make his big move as the leaders from the first two days struggle with the pressure and Tiger tends to play his best round. I don't think there is going to be this many guys under par tommorrow and I wouldn't be surprised to see Tiger get into one of the final 4 groups for Saturday

Looking at the leaderboard:

Chad Campbell -7 (sort of a mental midget, will crumble)
Hunter Mahan -6 (experience probably will be his demise, good player though)
Jim Furyk -6 (one of few that won't crumble when Tiger starts crawling up his arse, tough when he's close to the lead)
Larry Mize -5 (pfff...cya)
Shingo Katayama -5 (talented but not ready for a major)
John Merrick -4 (nope)
Todd Hamilton -4 (not consisent enough, useally shoots a high round to bow out, too bad,has a nice swing that should hold up under pressure)
Aaron Baddeley -4 (great putter, could actually make some noise)
Sean O'Hair -4 (watch out for this guy, extremely talented)
Kenny Perry -4 (if the greens get firm he's toast,he has one shot a "low hook" and that doesn't mix well with Augusta's greens)
Tim Clark -4 (great game,big heart..has a small shot)
Angel Cabrera -4 (only if the wind stays down does he have a chance)
Mike Weir -4 (can he put 4 rounds together?, if he doesn't blow it tomorrow he could win again because he has a great short game)

Tiger Woods -2 (duh, he could be +2 and still be a favorite)

Other than Tiger my picks for Sunday are:

Sean O'Hair
Jim Furyk
Stewart Cink
Adam Scott
Vijay Singh
