Everyone go to their wacky Winter Wranglerfest before Christmas. It sounds like it'll be fun.

The defence has been strong too.

Jonathan Aspirot is sort of a Justin Kirkland type story, in that he's been toiling in the minors for a while now, but has upgraded from an AHL-only deal to a two-way contract. I wonder if he gets a call-up.

They are the Wranglers kryptonite

Wranglers lose 2-1 to Ontario.

Lone goal was Morton from Honzek and Poirier on the PP

Cooley saved 36 of 38 shots.

Probably the most interesting tidbit was with Clark Bishop unavailable, Honzek played center between Frk and Klapka. Will be interesting to see if the Flames continue to use him there.

Didn't they want him to be a center? He played C as a giant and his coach I believe said he had sky high hopes for him...

Bishop seems like a great guy, but this type of talk has me thinking Tonya Harding... Anything to force development of a high end center lol...

Wranglers have played a bunch more games than other teams in their division. The gap in the standings may narrow.

Honzek was a winger his first season with the Giants and was *going* to be moved to centre last season, but was hurt in Flames camp and didn't end up doing it.

Yes, it's great to see them get a taste of the NHL, and see where they're at.

The flip side is that bringing them up and down can disrupt their momentum and confidence. And there is huge value in letting them all play together and have success together - having them win a championship together would have more value than giving them a taste of the NHL, IMO.

Patience is always good - there is no hurry.

Looks like the Honzek center experiment continues:

Went in person with my kids & their friends. Super entertaining, despite a couple of egregiously bad calls/non-calls by the refs. Wranglers' coach got hopping mad over the 2nd Henderson goal when Cooley got dog-piled and I was glad to see it. Even happier to see the Wrangers then pound the next three into the net.

Blasty came by and fist-bumped the kids... you've never seen four little smiles so big.
