Gio's shortie gives him 4 on the season. That's the 5th best season ALL TIME for a defenceman. How is this guy getting breakaways shorthanded is beyond me.

So fun to be able to just sit back and enjoy these final games down the stretch without worrying whether or not we're gonna make the playoffs. This season has been absolutely heavenly.
The Flames half-assed it a bit in the 1st and 2nd, but they certainly cranked up their energy level in the 3rd and completely took over. That was as dominant a period I've seen from these guys all year.
Smith was excellent tonight. Will be good to have both goalies playing solid heading into the playoffs.

It's such a refreshing feeling to watch games at the end of March with completely comfort, and no stress at all. The division title/home ice is still up for grabs, but I feel confident that the Flames can grab that, and have a favourable playoff route.
It's nice to be the chased, rather than the chaser during the playoff push. Feels good.
