There is some debate on that. Sounded like they were late in submitting all the paperwork and then just said afterwards the convenient excuse that Fifas demands were too high.

Regardless, hopefully Canada gets a mercy spot. No reason not to with 48. Though if any national governing body can louse this up its the CSA. I'd hire KPMG to look at the game sheets to make sure they arent putting on ineligible players.

The CSA has their 15 minutes now. Plus a boat load of cash they'll squander and spend long before a match is played here.

That said, here we are, and oldie but a goodie. 1001 to 1 would be a generous betting line though.

With 48 spots and with how close we've been in the past, would Canada not be a good bet to qualify without a bye anyway?

how close is close? we haven't been in the HEX since 1998 where we finished last.
