They tried before with the fresh donuts and failed. What makes you think this time will be different?

Italian Centre Shop is opening a second Calgary location at Northland… in 2026. That’ll be handy for me when it opens.

A theatre hub? Lol

The Starbucks at Crowfoot Cineplex routinely makes the worst lattes I've ever had in my entire life. Can't wait to see how they #### up donuts!

All the stand one drive thru stores make their own donuts. Always have.

It failed last time because of a bad location at Sunridge, and the franchise fees were astronomical for all Canadian locations. I assume that has changed or the corporate model has changed.

Reading it wrong. Theatre Hub means the KK store has the glass windows as you walk in to watch the donuts get made.

There sure are some quirky rules out there. I used to regularly walk through a conservative Hasidic neighbourhood in Brooklyn (big beards, woman with wigs etc). On a couple of occasions I was approached by locals asking me to come to their home and turn on/off all their lights. I guess they are not allowed to use electronics on certain days (but funnily enough were apparently were ok with gentiles operating it for them).

That has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

I dont even GAF about the $100k. The Synagogues pay for that and for them thats a drop in the bucket. There are New York Jews that could find $100K in their couch cushions.

But just...the concept of being 'unable to complete a circuit' on the Sabbath?

Sorry, thats a step too far for this guy. Sorry Yahweh, you're gonna have to get your kicks from someone else.

But I'm not Jewish, so theres that. They can do what they want to.

A private equity firm has gutted The Body Shop and they're now closing stores.

Ha! I just learned about Eruvs recently. Does the video mention how they pay someone to drive the perimeter and inspect the cable? You know, to make sure the magic is still working.

What an incredible waste of money, effort and time. Loony Tunes.

They were bleeding money. The old owners sucked so they sold the company to someone else. Their other alternative was to close everything.

I hope some of these mainstays remain though. Went to Market Mall on the weekend and shocked that a mortgage broker opened in the mall. Such a boring entity to take up mall space. It was completely void of any customers, cause who casually goes to a mortgage broker at the mall.

We now have an official date of the closing of Eau Claire Market this year, May 31.

Went to the mall over the weekend to grab a sweater, some socks, and a $800K mortgage

Finally they are letting that place die.

Regardless of your thoughts on the concept (love it or hate it) that place long outlasted it's life
