I was pretty ‘meh’ on the idea of pumped in crowd noise, but after watching those 2 goals, I’m not so sure.
I’m so conditioned to hear a cheer. Even in minor hockey, there is something... so weird.

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson
A classy gesture by #Flames, who capped their last scrimmage with a send-off for TSN's Jermain Franklin. Entire team gathers at centre-ice to raise sticks in salute. Very cool.

He's moving back to Toronto for some kind of big new role with TSN there. He announced it on social media last night. It sounds like this scrimmage was his last on-air duty in Calgary.

The main practice group has 21 skaters. So 6 more from the taxi squad.
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Ward also said they’re taking four goaltenders to Edmonton as part of their 31-player final roster.
That would leave them with 27 spots for skaters, which means they have to make a few decisions prior to finalizing. #Flames

Has the bubble roster deadline for teams (players coaches and ancillary people) now passed?

Giordano - Brodie

Rittich
Talbot

^ that makes 25, so 6 more more choices from:
Quine
Czarnik
Ruzicka
Froese
Robinson
Phillips is injured, not sure where Gawdin is?
Then with Mackey (not eligible) & Välimäki (not being activated) Yelesin is the only remaining option on D.

Quine and Czarnik would be next on my list.

That has been the book on him since day 1 and it hasnt changed a bit. He drops to his knees so easily, he could be mistaken for a sex worker.
Very concerning imo and certainly keeps him in that "always fighting to be #1 guy" area.
I have a feeling that its Talbot or bust through this thing. It is nice to know he has been there and done that before though.

All of Phillips C/RW, Gawdin C/RW, Czarnik RW, Froese C, Robinson RW are right shots and Ruzicka is a left shooting C/RW.

Are the Flames on the ice today? It's their last day before entering the bubble tomorrow. Is today an off-day?

My guess is it’s a family day before they enter the Soviet-era thunder dome, Armageddon style.
Also a day for church or prayer to whatever higher being they believe in, not for COVID, nor just for a good playoffs, but more simply for the fact to give them strength to get through being forced to live in Edmonton for the next couple months.
And a last chance to enjoy the freedom and all the things they will be missing while away quarantined.
And for Rittich, this is a recurring theme. Smith took over last year, and even though Rittich wasn’t having a great season before this, the seemingly false confidence he got from the all star game, then his stick drop vs the Oilers, he’s looked terrible overall since, letting in at least one bad goal each game, maybe more, and pulled a few times (and could’ve been pulled earlier than he was, but Ward would have a shell of a goalie With zero confidence if he did that)
Talbot was already in line for the playoff start as it was, and I think that’s the case now again, and Infeel much more confident with him and his experience back there.

Not sure if they’ll be on the ice, but today is listed as another training camp day.
