Default Flyers extend Lindblom, 3 years 3M AAV

He was having a breakout season before his cancer diagnosis. Looks like a steal of a bridge deal.

Good on the Flyers to give him term and a fair contract for both sides.

This is a good story, and hope to continue seeing his development in the Flyers organization.

Great deal for the Flyers, Lindblom remains an RFA after the deal.

Had to check but cap friendly has him as a RFA after 6 years of NHL play.

Is he a comparable for Mangiapane who is RFA with arbitration rights?

Lower limit?

Yeah I could see Mangiapane getting 3x2.5 if this is a comparable.

Is Lindblom that much better? Mangiapane would be giving up a UFA year, after a show me contract where he was $15k over the NHL league minimum.

I always forget that Mango was drafted as an overager.

Right, I think he's either getting a two-year deal or a long-term deal.

Lindblom is much better. He was among leaders in team scoring before his diagnosis. Is a 2way player, on the #1 PK. Staple on the 2nd / 1b line with Couturier. Dube by contrast was in and out of the lineup, just finding his place on the 3rd line.

Dube is a 21 year old rookie, why are we comparing him to Lindblom?

The conversation wasn't even about Dube anyways... it was Mangiapane.

Ah, well that makes more sense, much more comparable players.

Lindblom was putting up good numbers for sure, he was getting plenty of minutes in Philly's top 6 though with producers.

Mangiapane spent most of the season getting 3rd line minutes, only later in the season did his minutes start to go up and IIRC he finished up the season with something like 13 points in the last 14 games before the pause.
