Default Happy Mother's day to all the Moms out there!

I just came back from buying my mom and dad breakfast this morning.

I wanted to wish all of the mothers who come to CalgaryPuck or are parts of the family of CP members a Happy Mothers day.

Sometimes we deny it but we owe our mothers everything. They teach us to be better people, they show us how to communicate with one single look. They bandaged our knees using their magically pain killing breath and sent us back outside to fall down again, and in doing that they taught us to stand back up again. They helped us with our homework teaching us math using house hold fruits and Candies.

They let us know when they were disappointed in something that we did, but made us realize that didn't make her love us any less.

Every morning they got up in the wee hours to make sure that we were ready for another day at school, trying to make us our favorite lunches in bags with our names written on it. They knew when Pizza day was and made sure we had a couple of bucks in the bag.

Even when our moms dragged themselves home from a long day at work, they made sure we had enough to eat, made sure our homework was done, looking forward to that day when they could push us out of the nest and knowing that she had done her best to make sure that we could flap our wings and fly away.

They were always the bane of our significant other, that's just the nature of things, not because they were doing it our of spite or jealousy, but because they wanted to make sure that we wouldn't get crushed.

We can be angry at our Moms, or sad at whatever is happening. We can worry about our moms (Especially as they get older). But at the end of the day your mom loves you.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there, and if you haven't done it

Call your mom, she misses you!

So thankful I'm not on Facebook on days like today. Watching people embarrass themselves with odes to their mother/wife is so fataing cringe inducing I can't handle it.

Reconnected with my mom last year after a lengthy period of not talking. We missed mothers day last year so it was pretty great to take her out

Nothing is worse than my wife's (sort of) friend who got flowers for Mother's Day from her boyfriend. She is not a mother. But they have a "fur baby". Ugh.

Surprised by so many "mom" spellings so far in this thread. My "mum" would have hit me if I referred to her as "mom".

Haha, I was going to post something similar.

It bugs me when I get a text from my wife talking about my "Mum". No, you are a "Mum" and your mother is a "Mum" but my Canadian mother is definitely a "Mom".

I stopped off at McDonalds this afternoon to have coffee with a few buddies. I walk in and see my 82 year old mother sitting with her friends so I walk over to say hello to everyone.

A voice pipes up and says; "Hey Chris! What are you going to do for your mother today?"

I respond by saying: "Probably Joeys Only"

Mother cracks a huge smile and gives me the thumbs up as a 10 dollar bill is passed her way. I find out later she bet her best friend I would say Joeys Only. She knows me too well

Ohhhhh and she loves the fish!

Do your conscience a favor and always stay connected with your mother no matter what

There are so many things worse than a person celebrating admiration for their loved one, acknowledging them taking responsibility for a fully dependent living creature, that I can barely dignify this with a response.

Ever had a mosquito bite? Yeah. It’s worse.

Yikes. This post of yours is cringe inducing.

Bizarre to step in to CP and the well intentioned Mothers Day thread has the worst responses.

Happy mother’s day to all the moms out there.

No it's not. It trivializes the sacrifice parents make when having children. Yes it is the best thing in the world, yes it is a choice but it also takes a huge amount of energy. Fur babies aren't a thing. They are pets. To equate the two things is ridiculous.
