I also am looking for storm doors - specifically screen doors.
If I find anything, Photon, I'll let you know. if you find something, let me know, if you could.

I got mine at Home Hardware in Okotoks. I found they had a better selection.

I got these, storm door/screen door combo & they're great.

I don't remember seeing storm doors there, just regular doors.

Yup sorry guys but we don't do the exterior doors here.
Perhaps find a local dealer of Madero, good company and Western Canada based.

Yeah I couldn't find any storm doors on Madero's site either.

Nuts, being something we don't deal with I'm running out of ideas.
Have you tried Windsor Plywood?

Yeah they don't seem to either.
It's not that the Lowes and Home Depot ones aren't nice, they are, just wanted to see if there were any other cheaper or better options out there that I hadn't thought of.

Talk to me about sewer back-up.
We have previously experienced plugging in our main sewer line last year in September and October. We had the city out to verify that the main was clear each time, and had the line run with a cutter after the second episode. Now again this year we have recently experienced plugging yet again. The regularity that the plugging occurs is concerning, and I'd like to rectify the issue to prevent yearly backups through the basement floor drains and shower.
Outside of proactive yearly maintenance calls to get someone in to auger the sewer line, what other options are there? Would a sewer scope help identify the issue, or would I be opening myself up to other headaches? Am I looking at the potential of running a liner in my sewer line? I do have a large, city owned, tree in the front yard, but would ideally like to avoid getting it taken out.
Anyone else deal with repeated sewer back-ups?

Scope will show if there is any root damage or other damage to the pipe and the location of it from above.
You could also consider biting the bullet and getting sewer backup valves installed.

Yes, absolutely it could. Not sure I'm following you with what you did after then 2nd incident but if you have not had a camera run down the sewer line that begins in your basement, by all means do.
Yes, you could be opening yourself up to a headache but you could argue the issues you are having now is one too.
What year was your house built?

We have a backwater valve but it only protects from the mainline. What I suspect is happening is our line is getting plugged via roots, and our waste is causing the back-up into the floor drains.
My fear is the scope could open up a whole can of worms (sewer line replacement) and cost a whole lot of money.
Haven't had a camera run down the sewer line.
House is 1950s.

Replacing a large 2 leaf swing wooden gate that opens into a gravel back alley. The posts are supported by a 4x6 on each side. Any suggestions for wheels or other tips for building a gate that doesn't sag and opens easily?

Removing this bloody partical board sub floor is kicking my arse. Inside the pantry where no one will ever walk, maybe 12 square feet, there were 72 freaking staples holding it down. It is taking me 4 hours to remove a 4x8 section and clean up the area by either pulling the staples, or getting the left over chunks out and pounding them down. Putting up the upper cabinets was a piece of cake compared to this.
Curse this lousy late 80 's idea to add a layer of partical board subfloor. I knew it was a stupid idea back in 89 when my Dad did it in the house he was building, and made me help...25 years later I'm taking one out of a house built in....1989!

I had to pull up particle board in my living room, and it was a nightmare until a friend of mine lent me this big yellow bar and suddenly it was a piece of cake. I was pulling up boards by the sheet. What a difference.
BTW, just finished my kitchen tonight. It took a lot of work, but I figure I saved about 30k doing it myself.

I think this question fits the thread:
Anyone living in Edmonton please tell me a few good and reliable lawn mowing companies that I can call. Thanks!

I had a small flood in the lower level of my townhouse on Wednesday night. The restoration company was in Saturday morning to tear out the carpet and set up the fans, dehumidifier, etc. I want to paint while everything is out. Do I need to wait until the fans etc. are taken away? All that got wet was the carpet, nothing else was really affected. They have taken off the baseboards, cut a couple of inches of drywall up from the floor on a couple of walls where they set up fans.

I've ripped out a corner shower of the condo we bought recently and just about have the surface ready for some new 12" x 24" tiles.
Can anyone recommend a tile-leveling system for 1/8" grout lines, as well as where to get it in Vancouver?
