Exactly. He’s also 120 pounds soaking wet. Thought it was a borderline call made more aggravating that the refs were making a statement that only seems to apply to one team.

Especially after Bouchard embellished the elbow or whatever Coleman(?) was called for. He went down like he was in excruciating pain and then once he knew the call was made shot up with a #### eating grin on his face.

I guess they didn't call Nurse breaking his stick in half on Toffoli because they would have to call the stick for embellishment to even it up.

I was at the game and on a line change, Z took a swing at Pissy’s ankle.

I still think the issue for the Flames isn't defence so much as offence.

The Oilers have been very consistent against the Flames this year, scoring 5, 5, 1, 5, 6, 5 in their six games against the Flames so far. Basically, the Oilers are good for 5 goals against the Flames every game, so the Flames need to play unrelenting offence with the aim of potting at least 6 goals per game. This strikes me as way more doable than holding Edmonton to 2 or less every game, particularly without Taney. Plus the only time McDavid is a non-factor is when he's on the Oilers half of the rink. So make him defend by keeping up a strong forecheck and playing simple defence clearing the zone quickly.

That was a great presser by Sutter. Really good points about FO%, the breakaways, etc.

If anyone can get this sorted I think it's Sutter. He knows it's a seven game series and to some degree I wonder if he's letting the Oilers burn themselves out.

I thought the team struggled in games 2 and 3 against Dallas and they turned it around. Maybe they do or maybe they don’t, but I trust that they will be better in the next game.

Just have to stay out of the box. I thought the Flames deserved to win, but killing penalties is exhausting and makes it difficult to maintain pressure over the course of a game. Honestly, the Oilers are basic and their whole game revolves around getting powerplays and wearing the opposition down by being able to play with a man advantage. Keep it 5-on-5 as much as possible, and they are easily beatable. They have diving down pat though, so it isn't easy.

It was just a jarring visual because Johnny drops to his knees all the time to absorb impact. So when he fell flat on his face with straight legs it looked ridiculous. Unfortunate combination of things led to the bad call.

Wow! Completely the opposite IMO. Mcdavid is seen as a power forward and is but actually also a point guard. He attacks, sells it, draws at least two opposing players then dishes it or kicks it back to set up again.

flames should have Kylington doing the point guard part of that for calgary. Isolate him, cross ice pass to him, he "sells" the drive to the net well enough to draw two players with an assorted set of plays that offer different options to dish or kick it back.

For the power forward part where Mcdavid takes all the way to the net Calgary needs to use "drive the net" players like 4, 8, 44, 81, 19, 20, 88, 11. Those types of "total commitment" comocazi plays where they're not trying to shoot necessarily just physically deliver the puck to the goal area with the sole purpose of activating at least 3 variations of puck support arriving just in time to capitalize on the "pile up" and "greasy" opportunities.

So point gaurd we don't have. Kylington can do that. Power forward we don't got. Caocazi personal delivery is our best counter for that. PG attacks draw defenders, dish and kick. OR Physical players hand-deliver the puck to the crease area so that at least 3 different set plays have puck support from at least two "garbage hounds" arriving at precisely the right time..
