I don't know what option is worse as an Albertan. Kenney, Smith, or Jean

It's like the laundry machine is broke, and you're sniffing underwear in the bin for the least horrible pair to put on.

I'm worried this means UCP sails through the next election after blaming everything on Kenney and voters having the memory of a goldfish

Of all the things Kenny did poorly I think is Tier GHG plan was an improvement over the NDPs as it incentivizes reductions rather than just hood reservoir.

Covid he gets a B acting consistently 2-4 weeks late but he did open up more aggressively than other regions which I think was the correct choice in all but the 2nd wave. Messaging was poor but actions were close.

Other than that you had the election fraud, the parks debacle, the curriculum, keystone before the election, the war room logo, the war room fight with big foot, the adversarial nature with the public unions. The medical billing roll out, the use of Telus Babylon, and on and on and on.

So good riddance. The worst part of this whole thing is he is getting turfed for ducking up the Covid response by being too strict. Out of all the things he did that was the only thing he did okay.

That's what I'm afraid of. So many people will decide they "just can't vote NDP" and give the new leader a chance. And it will either be another disaster or, worse yet, they will accomplish some of their goals.

Also, the idea of Kenney running for the leadership again? That was the first thing that came to my mind, when he resigned.

I think you should be more worried about the fact the the NDP is still the NDP and there are thousands of Albertans that will never vote NDP regardless of who they are running against. I won't vote for them as long as Notley is the leader.

I'm with you guys. That's what I think is going to happen too, and exactly what they're going to run on.

I think it's going to be Jean. When it does happen there will be no lip service to the centre, let alone the left. Jean is going to veer right into the ditch. (pardon the pun)

Losing Kenney isn't going to solve any of our problems, not with the motley crew that's still left in the party.

The electoral fortunes of the UCP are tied to the price of oil. Most voters don’t follow politics closely. Elections are pretty much a referendum on the economy.

Good. He was a complete and total failure. I emailed my MLA multiple times over the past two years (who is a UCP member) and every time I mentioned that Kenney is unfit to lead.

See ya later Randy Bobandy. Won’t be missed.

They know they can't win if he's in charge. Hopefully people don't fall for it

I think there's a lot of revisionist history here. The NDP's term in power wasn't very good. I think the UCP was worse but it's like comparing reliability of a Jeep to a Land Rover. One is worse but they are both pretty bad. It's not a lot different than the Federal status of no electable parties.

I'm curious about this - why would he do that? He's already the leader of the UCP, what does this accomplish?

I know Jean and as person and leader I would say that he is actually very far from being weak and pathetic. He is a very good person but I don't necessarily see eye to eye with him when it comes to social issues so that would be my concern with him as leader.

Jean is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Any time he gets criticized it's always socialists or lefties. He has no good ideas either. Come to think of it, does he have any ideas? It's always someone else's fault.

Dude lives in his own bubble. He's yesterday's dinner and not enough people are going to want those leftovers.

Get some fresh blood.

He just needs to add Ottawa and Trudeau to the list of people he blames and he's got all the Alberta UCP leadership traits down.
