According to the NFL network the Broncos are sending the Hawks;
  • 2 x 1st Round Picks
  • 2 x 2nd Round Picks
  • Drew Lock
  • Noah Fant
  • Shelby Harris

If true that is way, way too much for a 33 year old Wilson that was showing signs of decline.

and every tank needs a commander. I'm sure Lockett and Metcalf will be thrilled!

I’m a Packers’ fan who hates Arron Rodgers (anyone want to buy his jersey?) with mixed feelings about this. He’s a great QB (“his” playoff failure is a team failure, in my opinion) I’d have preferred they trade his ass and sign someone else.

The Broncos nearly made the playoffs with well below replacement level QB play. Even if Russ isn't a top five QB anymore, he's still more than enough to make them contenders.

AFC West QB's: Wilson, Mahomes, Herbert and Carr. Buncha scrubs.

Ok, I can get behind this. Lock is obviously not the answer and should get us a top 5 pick next year.

Picks will help the rebuild. Might as well trade Lockett and Wagner etc, who won't be around during the next window.

I also don't think this is a huge overpay. No doubt someone else would have offered more for Wilson (the Steelers, Panthers, Washington) if they thought they could get him. But he had a no trade so he got to pick his destination.

Maybe but he's at best the 3rd best QB in the AFC West let alone the AFC.

But his overall team is better than the Chargers and probably the Chiefs too. He doesn't even need to play at an MVP level for them to win the Super Bowl because prior to this trade they had a great roster outside of QB. Now they have at worst a good NFL starter, and a potential MVP level starter at best.

I don't know man. I heard the same talk last year after they got Teddy Bridgewater and truth be told Teddy's stats weren't that bad last season as he and Wilson had very similar stats over 14 games. They won't win the AFC West but they have a chance at the wild card but their head coach is a wild card. I think the Chiefs will bounce back next season and finish atop the AFC.

Lol I get you're pissed as a Raider fan knowing you're the worst team in the division now, but come on. Russ is a significant, significant upgrade on Teddy. I'm kinda curious now if McDaniels tries to late backdoor quit, would certainly be on brand.

Not pissed in the least. I just don't crown teams that haven't earned anything. Last few seasons all the pundits pick the Raiders to finish last in the AFC West and they keep finishing 2nd so I don't get too excited about flashy offseason trades and signings.

Has Love even played enough to know for sure? Other than some mop up stuff and a game or two that Rogers missed I don't recall him playing much but haven't followed the Packers closely over the past couple of years so maybe he has played more (?).

This is some top-shelf copium.

I'm in the same position as you - I've been a Packers fan for a long time, but I'm done with Rodgers. Just too selfish for me, with limited results. The vaccination/COVID stuff pushed me over the edge.

To be honest with the Hackett hiring I thought there may have been a chance that Rodgers would have been their guy. That would have been annoying as he could have challenged the Chiefs. This not so much. Wilson is a really good QB to the reality is that Reid and Mahomes are at the top of the mountain and this simply changes the scenery at the bottom as it's going to be a little more difficult getting the annual sweep of the Broncos.
