Scottie definitely didn't do anything spectacular today other than that birdie on three but he managed to save himself every time he got into trouble. Off the tee he was pretty poor and I kept thinking it would hurt him but he found a way to make up for the mistakes.

I almost appreciate the sport more because unlike my conspiracy/true theories of other major sports artificially keeping games close ore even outright choosing certain markets to have advantages, golf is just shot by shot. Each one on it's own with no officiating to help or hinder.
The one pure pro sport on earth?

Morgan Hoffman is in the field this week.
He has three starts left on his major medical.
This is a good read if you don't know the background.

Rory off to his best start in a major in a while, playing really strong.

He's been playing well lately. He has a bad habit of having one blow up round every tournament though.

Usually round 1.
Early innings, but I have both Rory and Zalatoris in my pool.

Ive watched a little bit of this both days....and it just doesnt have the "feels" of a major to me.
Think its just because its the first time in May? Or am I on an island with this?

I think it's the second time in May.
But you are not alone. The PGA belongs in August IMO and the PGA got this dead wrong.

Eh, a major is a major is a major. It won't be going back to August, both because PGA is committed now to ending its season without having to compete against the NFL for the FedEx Cup, and because it doesn't want to move it to May every four years because of the Olympics. And I like the it opens up possibly having majors in some states (i.e. Texas and Florida) that couldn't host in August because the weather would be oppressive.

There really isn’t much personality to the pga championship whenever it is. The other 3 all have much more of an identity.

It did have the advantage of being the last major and the last chance for some of the big names to win a major that year.
