The German girl is still depressed. She lost heat 1 of the bronze medal by a mile.

That was great!

just too much long power in the sprints! Great job Mitchell!

Amazing how she only recently started cycling track sprints 2-3 years ago...

Looks like there are spectators at the velodrome, they let people in now?

I think because it's outside of Tokyo (it's about 2 hrs southwest of the city), the restrictions aren't as strict. I believe they're allowed 50% capacity at the velodrome.

He's also now the most decorated British Olympic athlete of all time with 7 golds and 9 medals (and his wife is the most decorated British female Olympic athlete).

The other rider would just draft behind you, use way less energy to maintain the same speed, and then pass you on the last lap.

thats a sneaky important medal to pull us into 11th in the Standings

pretty much no matter how you look at the medals we aren't quite a top 10 country- mostly those are the big guns anyways - and then Australia (who yes they are a summer Olympic big gun but not by population) and the Netherlands

but this should settle us into the front of that next tier with Brazil, New Zealand, South Korea, Hungary, Poland, Cuba etc

For a predominantly winter sport country, I'd say we're doing extremely well.
