Doesn't really matter. When it's time for change, it's time.

Sure but I was addressing the point of not wanting the trap all the time. If it’s personnel, that’s on the GM.

Interesting roster.

Oettinger
Heiskanen
Lindell
Hintz
Robertson

Pavelski and Suter are ideal vets to shepherd this core, but they're locked into Benn/Seguin for a long time to come, which will hamper what they're able to do in these peak years (and also hamper a leadership transition).

He's only 67? Feels like he's been around forever.

Did a great job in the playoffs (I guess having a goalie playing out of his mind probably doesn't hurt) but as others have said throughout the season I've read endless things from Dallas fans wishing for his firing. Watching them a bit this year, I get it. Not exactly some barn-burner hockey to watch.

They still have some nice pieces (a future Norris winner and maybe a possible future Vezina winner as well) so will be very interesting to see who they hire and what direction they go. I'm guessing there won't be a rebuild........yet.

You start a fire sale and Oettinger might request to be moved and/or not sign long term (I'm unsure of his contract status as I write this).
I think so. Oettinger is only 23, Heiskanen and Robertson are only 22. Even if they rebuild for 5 years and add some solid young pieces those guys would still only be in their late-20’s.

It’s not going to work with what they have now. Benn and Seguin aren’t getting better. Pavelski isn’t getting better. Time to get some good young players and try again. I think they could rebuild pretty quick considering they already have a good young goalie, a #1 defenseman, and a 40 goal scorer all 23 and under.

No. He knew if he brought them into frame he could look on the jumbotron without looking. Man’s a genius. Hire this man.
