I never understood how that works.
Either way, love this!
All ELCs are 2 way. 2 way contracts mean the player is paid a different salary in the NHL and a different salary in the AHL.
1 way contracts mean the player is paid the same salary regardless of where the player plays.

Maybe he should be nicknamed Bruce, in honor of keeping up with the finding Nemo theme.

Got it, thought so. In that case, what are players usually paid in the AHL on an ELC? Seems moot saying 950k but they don’t actually make that amount, and to my knowledge, that’s not his cap hit for the big club if he doesn’t play

That's a relief. Look forward to seeing what he does at the pro level with the Wranglers. I hope he shows as well as Poirier in the AHL, who I expect to be with the Flames next year.

Is there any chance we'll see him in a Wrangler or Flames game this season?

I believe the NHL contract starts for next season. So it won't be possible to join the NHL team.
He could still join the AHL team on an ATO when his junior team is done for the season.

Nickname the whole team Bruce to avoid any confusion.
