The Red Wings are still really good with their sticks. just hard to complete passes and hold the puck along the boards against them.

Why would you take two shots from that position when you have all the space in the world on a 5 on 3?

Work the puck down low and don't try to force it up high. Defencemen need to move up to the top of the circles/hash marks and pick their spots and stay open for the shot.

It was not a smart play, and the shot was blocked and cleared both times, as much as people like to disagree with me. This was a 5 on 3, not 5 on 4.

Never works, but kept trying it. It's was a 5 on 3.
Yeah, that dang play that almost every single defenceman in the NHL tries almost every single game.

Bad Hockey IQ, ALL OF EM!

Feel like Hudler's been trying to do too much this game, being a bit too fancy. Might have to do with his confidence and playing in Detroit. It's nice that the Flame's have a creative forward like him but I hope he plays a simpler game in the third, let his linemates help him out.

Reality: the Flames suck at puck movement on the PP and don't shoot enough.

Mind you, every GM knows what Stemps is like. But a good streak can easily make the most desperate GM's knees buckle. Here's hoping!

Well the second period was basically a Flames PP. Detroit really did it to themselves with that many penalties near to concurrently it really was inevitable that the Flames would tie it up. Ramo was very lucky there, but as I frequently argue, hard work creates its own luck. And man was Ramo solid all period. No fault on the goal to him as no one stops that.

All in all a highly entertaining period of hockey. Third should be a right proper barn burner.

Because many, many, many goals are scored through screened or deflected point shots in the NHL. Go watch a Euro league if you want the other stuff.

This is completely your opinion, which is fine, but you need to learn to add these three simple capitalized letters to your posts from now on: I(n) M(y) O(pinion).

OT but saw Anchorman 2 today, and it was hard to watch at times. Still laughed at a lot of it, but it wasn't very good despite an honest attempt to discuss the downward spiral of news media. Worth a watch at home, but I wouldn't run out and see it in theaters. 6/10.

lotta angry folks on here, which is sorta surprising, as the flames are hanging in there just fine.

want to see more from monohan/hudler, thought both have been pretty sub-par so far. Stempniak is really fighting it also.

Steve Carrell was the funniest thing about the 1st. I'm willing to bet he had the most funny moments in this one too.
