I'm prepared for a frustrating experience as always seems to be the case when playing the Coyotes. The Flames will either dominate and lose due to the Coyotes being more opportunistic or play terrible in a close 3-point game. Seems to be the way these teams always play out.

Agreed. This is nothing more than standard, run-of-the-mill rotation.

No Morris means the Flames will have to work that much harder to create chances in the Phoenix zone.
I think the Flames persevere in the end, the offense continuing to generate chances, and from that getting that timely goal tying or go ahead they have had trouble getting in tight games like this in past years, and go on to win.

Are we talking about Jagr's shot, in the slot, with under a minute? Because if we're talking about that, Jagr whiffed on a puck on its edge, McDonald didn't touch it at all. Just re-watched the highlights. Not to bash McDonald or anything, he was solid, but he didn't make a save there.

He's talking about when Jagr pulled a spin move and put a low shot on net. McDonald made a nice kick save on it

Umm you might want to use your head? I don't think there is one post in this thread that says' "Hartely has no faith in MacDonald". Some are just surprised that they are changing the goalie after a win.

Eventually he needs to settle with someone. Joey was pretty decent yesterday and that save against Jagr in the 3rd pretty much saved the game.

The some might like to read the NHL head coach's instruction manual about playing old goalies coming off season-long injuries on back-to-back nights (section B, pages 47-48).

Is Joey MacDonald still donning his Wing's mask?

Yep, I would imagine it takes a little while for the artist to draw up a design, paint the mask and then ship it.

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned something about it, but this has to be the first time the Flames use 3 different starters in 3 games since February 2004.
Feb. 3rd 2004 - vs LAK - Jamie McLennan (4-4 OT)
Feb. 5th 2004 - vs STL - Roman Turek (2-1 L)
Feb. 10th 2004 - vs ATL - Miikka Kiprusoff (5-2 W)
And - coincidence! - it was also 2004 when Byron Dafoe started a few games for Atlanta - Danny Taylor is the first British starter since then.

2004 was also the last time a goalie other than Kipper started back to back games. During that year Kipper suffered an MCL injury and didn't play for four weeks. He came back and led the team into the playoffs with a 1.69 GAA. I see a few similarities between those seasons and hope they continue right through the playoffs.

Best of luck Danny.
But by the end of the night he might want a Troy Ward coached team playing in front of him, with all the blown assignments and shoddy coverage there will be.

Taylor getting the start is more proof of the meritocracy system in place. He's earned it, and who knows, maybe he puts in a brilliant performance? Really curious to see what he brings to the table.

Be prepared to expect a boat load of calls in PHX's favor. That is just the way PHX games go when they are the home team.

This is the game they have always lost in the past. Minor league goalie making his pro debut, 2nd game in 2 nights on the road. If the culture is ever going to change, these are the games that are going to make it happen.
