I really can't believe Smith will start. I'm all for having players work out of a slump but after that last goal he needs to sit for a bit and see what Rittich can do. Especially against a divisional rival.

I believe firmly that Rittich will start. If this was a road game then maybe it is a different story but at home, vs our biggest rival, with the entire city/media focused on smith's troubles, a poor goal and i would not be surprised if the dome crowd turns on smith with the bronx cheers, etc, which will just worsen the situation.

That would benefit the Oilers though. Maybe he can destroy the Nuge with a 2 hander to the neck and get a 25 game suspension along with it.

What happens if Rittich starts and the Flames lose? Either way things are going to suck. So maybe playing Smith is just protecting the team. Then they still think they have one goalie who can play. Lol this is silly. Smith needs to play less games at the dome. He’ll be eaten alive if the Flames lose the BOA.
