San Jose was still the better team.

At least Smith looked like an NHL starter tonight, which you hope develops into "losing the battle and winning the war".

Players need to look at themselves. Bury your chances early. Czarnik, Jankowski had great looks. Have to finish.

Just not good enough effort. Yes refs are convenient narrative but team is needing more. Crying about the officiating ain’t gonna do ####.

One of the worst reffed games I've seen, and that's really saying something.

In the last 5 minutes alone Gaudreau was tripped, Monahan crosschecked, Hamonic's stick slashed out of his hand, and an "automatic" delay of game penalty.

Not to mention Gio getting called for hooking when Pavelski is blatantly holding his stick the entire duration.

Screw the refs. They can't even call the automatic one.

Smith was solid but where has the offense gone? 4 goals on the road trip is not good enough.

Goddamn officiating is atrocious (tonight, as well as others).

These guys can't even do their jobs.

If someone with the league has an issue with what Peters is going to have to say tonight, then maybe they should watch that reply at the end.

The plain ignorance out there makes me sick. You can't say they didn't aid San Jose. Guy that shoots it straight out gets the empty net. Looks really bad on them.

I hope the hell someone says something about those officials to the media. That was an absolute bloody disgrace.

So the Flames have one powerplay in their last two games through California.

Just maddening. Not even mad at the team, the Flames should take a fine and call this #### out.

I don’t know how bad Neal was to get benched but he can’t be worse than Ryan. A black hole on offence.

I think the ref thought that tkachuk hit Kane’s stick into the puck. Which was explained to Peters who said “no he didn’t” after watching it on the replay.

Would explain why faceoff was in zone with no penalty.

I didn’t see the whole game but Flames weren’t awful. But 2 goals in last 2 games, Flames lucky to get a split.

I actually think the goaltending is going to start to stabilize.

I don’t even feel bad for Bennett anymore.

His stone hands are real.

Pretty lame ending. The Flames did push back in the third enough to make a game of it.

Good: Smith with a bounce back despite the early goal.

Bad: Bennett with no finish.

That was a game you would hope to get at least to overtime. Sharks carried the play early, Flames had chances late. Jones made one more save and that was the difference tonight.

Over the glass. Call on Gio. Slewfoot on Backlund by Kane. Gaudreau held.

4 goals in 3 games.

We’re lucky to even have a win in this California trip.

Switch the lines a little.

NSFW!

Flames should've been better for the 1st 2 periods but zebra-painted donkeys certainly helped contain the comeback.

Can't wait to see what Neal looks like against Montreal. When if ever has he been benched?
