With a win today, we can over take the Canucks for top spot in the Pacific and open up a four point lead on San Jose who is sitting right behind us. Not sure how much more incentive a team needs to go lights out today! I Billieve! 4-2 Flames, Smith shows us he's still relevant, and Gio with a goal!
Go Flames Go!

Flames get the W. I a completely shocking turn of Events, Mike Smith also records the goose egg, thus further complicating things. Meanwhile, Flames walk out of California with 4 out of 6 points.

Can't wrap my head around a Smith start in a four point game against Sharks...please have the decency to pull him if he let's in two on the first three shots!
As an aside, been lurking for a couple years, finally registered. Flames fan since '80, and had seasons tickets back in 88-89 when I lived there. Liking our team this year, with one notable exception. Maybe two, still not loving Ryan yet...

NHL games are so close and tied to great goaltending these days that if you have to pull your goalie due to multiple bad goals the game is likely over.

Welcome aboard!
I know what you mean about Ryan, he's not a flashy type at all, someone recently compared him to a defensive defenseman, it's good when they are not noticed, it means they're playing well.
Ryan's puck handling and playmaking skills are sadly lacking. It's not as bad as Lazar or Brouwer but I'm definitely seeing a lot of plays fizzle on his stick.

Sadly it's true...I always watch the body language and tension when Smith is digging a hole for the team, gives me a gut ache.

Attending the game with the family. Rented a car, and coming in from San Fransisco.
Looking forward to the W. Sitting lower bowl behind Sharks net. Saw the Warriors last night and the Niners tomorrow.

It is difficult to believe that he scored nearly 40 points last season.
