I remember the end of the 1st round that year.

Seeing as how they drafted Jankowski instead, I was hoping Calgary might've traded for that 30th pick and took Tanner Pearson. (even though he was two years older than Mark Jankowski)

We would've got an NHL player 4 years sooner had we selected Pearson over Jankowski.

That makes it sound even worse.

It's probably not a bad idea at this stage. If they could manage to get Jack Houghes and get a player with the 32nd pick they may be able to turn things around while Doughty and Kopitar are still useful.

Pearson has had a bad year but a change of scenery might be exactly what he needs, especially with the Pens forward group.

If Pearson continues to not score, I kinda like this for LA. Gives them a lot more flexibility, since Hagelin is a UFA at the end of the season.

yeah but because we would now be paying Pearson 3.75 due to his advanced development curve we wouldn't have been able to afford Derek Ryan...oh wait....

I like Jankowski and hope he can continue to progress but there are a lot of guys we passed on that could be helping out right now.

Girgensons, Ceci, Wilson, Hertl, Teravainen, Vasilevsky, Laughton, Maata, Matheson, Subban are the 10 players selected from 14-24.

At least we were able to add Patrick Sieloff.
