Mangiapane. For the same reasons expressed in round 3. He excelled in the AHL and has already had a spell in the NHL and I expect him to make the Flames this fall. He's ahead of the development curve when compared to the others.

Gotta be Parsons. Hopefully he can prove his competence in Kansas City and then push for the starter role in Stockton.

Not ready to go Parsons yet so I think it's between Mangiapane and Foo for me.

I’m with FBI. Parsons proved last year that he needs more development and we don’t yet know for certain if he will hit a plateau. Mangiapane on the other hand has proven himself well in the AHL and we now need to see if he can continue to progress and show the same level of play in the NHL.

The apparent race for this round is a travesty IMO.

Mangiapane is one of those prospects that may or may not carve out a modest NHL career, or he may top out as a tweener. His upside is probably a 3rd liner.

While goalies are impossible to predict, Parsons has the pedigree, and the tools, to become a #1 goalie. His upside is to be a franchise goalie.

IMO, this is no contest.

I went Parsons, this time because of potential impact. But I'm a little surprised at Mangiapane's early lead over Foo - to me they are incredibly close (and management seems to like Foo better IMO).

Kylington. High ceiling, proven in the AHL.

Voted Kylington in the last round. Will continue to do so. Still has top pairing potential IMO.

It depends how you are voting though. If you are voting for guys that have the soonest chance of making the team then I get it. If you are voting on upside then ya, mind boggling to me as well.

Noticeable lack of star potential forwards. Really solid top 3 d tho. Kylington, Valimaki, Anderson could all develop into top pairing guys. Hopefully we keep our 1st this year and can try and snag a gem forward.

Well yeah. And IMO, you have to consider and balance both.

And that's where I have no problem with a guy like Dube getting voted ahead of him, because at least Dube has a bit more upside to go along with the fact that he has a good chance of making it to the NHL.

But the difference in upside between Parsons and Mangiapane is so great that the fact that Mangiapane probably plays some games with the team this year doesn't come close to bridging that difference IMO.

I agree the d group is impressive, Parsons has huge potential but the forward group leaves a lot to be desired..

That said I still really like Dube, he seems like a player that will thrive due to pure will. He also is extremely quick and has leadership intangibles. I think Mangiapane could be a hidden gem if he puts it all together and gets opportunity but he along with Foo still have to prove it.

You are correct that none of them look to be stars however.

Mangiapane. Was one of the best in the Ahl last season and unfortunately was stapled to 4th line and limited minutes with GG as coach. Would like to see him get a few shifts with Johnny and Mony and see how he does.

Has to be Mangiapane (he should have won round 3 IMO)

Take into account the following:
2017/18
-Top of the league in points per game in the AHL last year (forwards, 21 years old or younger)
-production relative to the rest of the AHL for the 2017/2018: https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpo...&postcount=136
-Top on the team for goals, points, primary points, 5v5 points, 5v5 primary points, NHLe, estimated P/60, etc. This is before you factor in the fact that Mangiapane played the least games of the regular AHL Flames prospects with 39.
-involved in 38.38% of all Heat goals, nearly 16% higher than the next highest contributor
Comparables
-Similar producers at even strength generally make the NHL full time at an 88% clip, scoring around 0.53 PPG throughout their careers which puts him in-line with players like Ferland, Lindholm, Backlund, Domi, Silfverberg, etc.
