Photographer Michael H. Davies took this photo on the tundra outside of Pangnirtung, Nunavut, a community of about 1,400 just a few metres south of the Arctic circle

Tea Toss at -40: 'As everybody knows, in Nunavut we go to great lengths to have tea somewhere strange,' Michael Davies says

Anyone else amused that it's basically a great big leaf made from tea?

Yes, this is amusing, particularly since the two images are completely unrelated and are taken in very different weather (30C-ish in Singapore, -40C-ish in Nunavut)

Here's the big leaf with me under it to give some perspective, the one to the left is even bigger.

Some great photos in this thread for us non-camera folks to enjoy. Keep on posting.

Was out in Canmore for Christmas. Trudged through some deep snow for this one.

This is from a few years ago taken a few hundred feet above the same spot. I mounted a camera on my Supercub RC plane and had a servo rigged to a point n' shoot camera. This was before the days of drones where you can see what you are taking a picture of. I tried to fly level enough, then hit the servo switch and hoped it worked!

Tried to catch the Northern Lights on New Years Eve, but didn't get great results. I really need to set up camp this summer far from the city and get my astrophotography technique straightened out.

One of my objectives for this winter - to catch a good NL show on camera.

Boudoir photoshoot from yesterday (I tagged along with another photographer).

Might be NSFW?

Here's a few of my favourites taken in 2016 so far. The last two were taken with the Sony a6000 which I just returned. I love the small size of it, but the lens selection just isn't there yet.

Spent the long weekend in Saskatoon, snowstorms lend themselves well to black & white.

I may just bite the bullet & stick with black & white for the month of February here, just as a change of pace.
