I trust that the Flames will not get dragged into playing the Avalanche style game and get back to Flames hockey. I heard that Makar reminds people a lot of Erik Karlsson. Mark Savard just had an interesting stat on SN. Karlsson has been on for more Sharks goals than Martin Jones.

Karlsson? Good news then. He has been on the ice for all but 1 or 2 of Vegas 13 goals this series.

I think Loubo compared him to Karlsson, offensively. Hopefully he is the same, defensively, as Karlsson had been on the ice for 8 of the Knights first 9 goals in that series.

What does this tell Calgary? The Avs have pitiful depth if there is nobody ahead of this kid coming straight out of NCAA.
The answer: Keep getting on them and they'll be forced to feed guys like this minutes they aren't ready to handle as this series drags on.

That's before last night. He was on for 4? Yikes.
Checked. 5 of the 6.

Mackinnon is a fantastic player and a true superstar, but the Flames are the better team and they'll win this series.
Personally, my biggest concern heading into the playoffs was Calgary's goaltending, but so far, Smith has been excellent.
The Flames didn't look near their best in Game 2 and almost won the game. The top line hasn't been able to break through yet, but when they do, the Flames will win games by 2 or more goals, regardless how Mackinnon does.
Big win coming tonight, I'd bet!

NECK BEARD IS GETTING ITCHY. If this thing is going way farther I am going to look like Happy Gilmore's caddy:

The Flames have been an excellent home team all season, but I am often weirdly more nervous about how they perform at the Saddledome than they do on the road. It feels like most of the glaring defensive guffaws, or brain cramps by forwards tend to occur on home ice, even in spite of the fact that the Flames's record at home is fantastic.
I think they are an even better team on the road. They play a stronger systems game, it's tighter checking, and it feels like they don't chase as much and end up getting dummied into bad penalties. I was sceptical heading into this series that Colorado could win a game at the Saddledome, but was always confident that the Flames can win in Denver. I think the real Flames show up tonight.
GFG.

HF Oilers comments were ceding the series to Calgary after game one. And need I say they hate the Flames?

And also because in a game of bounces Colorado got most of them.

Not going to apologize for a hot goalie.
He could perform half as well and if the team plays to their capability they still win this.

WCQF-G3: (P1) Calgary – 1 @ (W2) Colorado -1 ~ 8:00pm (CBC, CNBC, TVA)
Flames need to get Johnny going, if he’s going to play perimeter hockey in the playoffs we got no chance. A lot of talk about Monahan and Lindholm, but Johnny has been checked out of the series so far.
Let’s see how the Avs do in front of their home crowd, Flames need to jump on them right from the start. It’s desperation time boys, make them feel you.
Go flames

100% agree, game needs to adjust to playoffs but he's not alone in that. And in the defensive zone gonna have to start taking some hits to get the puck out, soft plays are keeping us hemmed in.

Yup, playoff rules do no favours for Johnny but he needs to adjust. We’ve seen how Tampa’s stars have been unable to, hopefully Johnny can find that extra gear. He’s got it in him. We need our best player to be our best player. I don’t want to see him hesitate, he’s got the potential to takeover the series if he gets going. Tired of this MacKinnon love fest

Flames fans should never have to apologize for their goaltender stealing any games post-Kipper.

So any word on the possible lineup changes peters teased?
I guess options are Czarnik, Valimaki or Prout.
I thought Hathaway and Mangiapane have looked good so I doubt they're going anywhere. I'm guessing Neal doesn't get sat. And while Janko has been very meh, he kills penalties and Czarnik doesn't. So guess I'm leaning to no forward changes.
