Yep, this series is one of the best out there, much like Dollhouse it is flying under the radar it seems, although if looking at Icelands top torrent site it is consistently one of the most popular downloads day after it shows on TV.

So I had a buddy of mine call me and say, how can they get Fitz back, the time line has changed, its different.


And while I get it, the Fitz that we have came to them from the future, so even though the loop broke, he should have somehow gotten into space.


However because time travel is so fricken confusing.


In the OT the world cracks. Fitz works the problem and freezes himself in the lighthouse.


But when the loop broke and Future Fitz died, unless there is another Fitz running around that froze himself without us knowing, wouldn't the Fitz in space wink out of existence.

Great episode, Jemma's face right before the commercial was certainly tear jerking, it was sad what happened too Fitz but don't make us what Jemma go through that. I also did not notice anything comment about Deke after, did they touch on that at all?

I did find it a little disappointing they ignored the Thanos story line in the end, after confirming two weeks ago that the events were happening side by side. I think the only way you can accept that Quake is the only hero responding to a space ship landing ontop of Chicago skyscrapers is that the rest of them are tied up in Wakanda and on Titan, which is reasonable but I think staying true to the format of the show they needed to address the snap.

The time travel thing throws up questions around Deke.


With the events that happen and the time line never having taken place and Deke not existing, would Jemma and the rest of the team even remember him since they wouldn't encounter them in the future, since that future doesn't exist.

Really the actors who played YoYo, Fitz and Gemma really were far above and beyond the other performances.


I still go back to YoYo's breakdown during the argument and the line "I feel like I'm in a nightmare and I'm screaming and nobody can hear me" was such a powerful line. If there was a moment of teary eyed Captain, that was it, also with Fitz's scene.

id have to go back and check but how much time elapsed between when shield was kidnapped and when they came home?

My thought was that they came back after Fitz froze himself otherwise there would be two Fitz in the same time frame running around and he would have been in the Hydra Prison with Hale.

So Fitz 1 is in the capsule somewhere.

Deke is interesting and I hope didn't evaporate and this universe ignores time paradoxes.

They've gone the route of time not being fixed. That could either result in multiple universes, or that there simply exists one current time that can be affected by time travel.

But the only way they get a true paradox is if Deke does evaporate, which would make no sense. Deke became a part of the 'current' timeline when he traveled back in time.

Deke is out there exploring Earth, Fitz is frozen circling around Jupiter with Enoch (who is also now alive).

What if the second half of the last episode wasn't real?


What if Coulson never woke up from his coma, and what we're seeing is some kind of way to make him more comfortable and his death easier



What if they start the next season with the team without Coulson going into battle against Talbot, without Coulson there?


Everything just seemed so perfect and heroic for Agents of Shield


Deciding to save lives instead of attacking Talbot as the group.


Coulson making the big sacrifice play, so that he would know that the shield team would be ok.


The death of Fitz, but the possibility through convoluted time travel theories that he's alive out there.


The easy death of Talbot by Daisy where she becomes the hero that he wanted her to be.


No snappy snappy dusty dusty.


The optimistic ending with Coulson on a perfect beach with the perfect woman.


What if he wakes up next year and things have gone to crap, and somehow he has to rally what's left of the team to save the world one last time?

You are correct. The only true way to not to have paradoxes and travel through time is with the many worlds theory. Most sci-fi ignores this, but Deke specifically mentions it. So the writers are at least aware of the theory. Deke should still be around.

I can't see them not playing fair with the audience like that. You look at how far Infinity War went out of its way to play fair with the audience in the end. They could have gone completely opposite with the cast and we would have been forced to thing the ending was gonna stick. But they choose to outright tell us they will be clawing the ending back in the next movie, just to make sure the audience wouldn't feel scorned by them clawing back the ending. In light of that I can't see them completely clawing back a season finale 2 weeks later without fair warning, it would just feel cheap when it happens.

I also think with the IW ending looming they can go back on anything they have done in a more fair way, although choosing not to address the snap in this episode hurts that.

Finally watched the last episode. I'll just echo the thoughts of everyone here on it.

I find myself not wanting them to do the abbreviated season 6. Treating this like a series end tied up so many things nicely. Not sure I want them to revive the series (as it ended anyways) and do a lesser job to end the series.

That is of course, assuming the AoS carries on with the team at the end. We'll see how / if IW affects the series both in plot and characters. Maybe it takes off in a whole new direction almost as if it's a spinoff with new characters.

I want a season next year because the writing really hit stride last year with the Framework storyline, and was really strong this year.


With only 13 episodes, we're only going to see one story line instead of 2.



This year it was one storyline split into two, last year it was 2 with Ghost Rider and Aida. the year before it was 2 with the whole Hydra lost world and then Hive.


I have this expectation that Phil Coulson is dead, I don't know where his storyline can go, and its sad, because he's such a key character and he's the emotional balance, but what else can he do. I also don't expect to see much of May, against what does she have left to do besides punching people really hard. There's not much more that she can really teach anyone.


This is a much smaller team, which is great, and I have this expectation that Gravitron isn't done yet.



But all this really has to lead to Daisy becoming the Director of Shield doesn't it?

I love Phil Coulson as a character, but I would be disappointed if he came back. Would cheapen this season finale tremendously. Maybe a death episode, or a small cameo.

I'd also be happy if they kept Gravitron 'dead' in space. I think we got enough of him. Although, if the big bad is the Kree invasion, them hunting him down in space makes some sense.

May coming back could work, explore her reaction to the loss of Coulson, could finally give us some background on her mother and what organization she belonged to. And she could be a mother figure to Daisy who encourages her to take over the team and director.

Theory for the last season

So I've been rewatching Shield and I'm in season 4 when its revealed that Senator Nadeer was a watchdog and her brother had undergone Terragenisis. At the end of the episode she kills her brother because of her hate for inhumans and his body is thrown from the helicopter into the ocean and sinks to the bottom where it undergoes a second Terragenisis.



Whedon never leaves anything to waste. Is it possible that Veejay Nadeer comes out of the Ocean as a super inhuman. There have only been a few inhumans in the Marvel Universe that have gone through a second cocoon. Gorgan was one and Quickfire was another. Quickfire had the ability to manipulate time which Veejay seemed to be able to slow down time. What if Veejay is the secret to getting back Fitz, or Coulson, or even someone like Hive, if next season is the last season why not bring Brett Dalton back somehow?


Anyways just a thought.
