Oilers sign Ryan McLeod. 1 year, 798 K.
Was the last player left to be signed. 798 K 1 year. He signed for less than his qualifying offer which expired earlier this summer.

Do we need threads for unrelated AHL teams signing AHL players?

An odd salary number. I guess it had to work. Is this less than projected?

Could have put it in the Edmonton thread I suppose but I know there were a lot of people who were projecting what his salary was going to be on this board due to the cap situation.

Good for him. Now it's just a matter of showing if he is the next Lander or the next Haus. He has a lot to play for in terms of his next pro contract. Feels like a Switzerland guy.

Guess he gambled and lost as it relates to the QO.

Teams don't seem to offer sheet that level of player. I suppose because every team has prospects or UFA targets that meet that level.

Milano had 13 more points in less games and was a PTO
Nobody was offer sheeting this guy...his own team wouldn't even give him 2 years

Flames get Ruzicka for less and for 2 years. Oilers sign another young player to a 1 year deal. Makes next summer hard to manage again and more players I can cheer that get McDavid mooch points and a bad deal next year.

Who are they going to get to retire/fake injury next year?

They still need someone else to this year. Foegele, Ceci and Barrie are the likely candidates.

They signed him for $797, but McDavid protested the number so they changed it to $798 to appease His Worship.

Maybe not. He could just be gambling against himself.
His QO would have been a two-way contract as he played in less than 180 games. This contract, at least according to Capfriendly, is a one-way contract. 10 times the guaranteed amount he would have made with his QO, and less than 100k the max he would have made.
