There won't be any early bird pricing with Sportsnet. They are and always will be an absolute joke.

I got my SN Now Premium early bird offer today.
Normally $250, less $70 early bird discount for $180 for the year.

And this is because you purchased NHL centre ice before?

Not Center Ice. I had NHLtv last year.

I signed up for the early bird price and installed the Sportsnet Now app. Glad its the same price as NHL game centre was, would have been annoying to pay the regular price. The nice thing is this gets you a lot more sports content than just having NHL game centre did. And you never got post game analysis or any additional coverage on game centre, so having standard Sportsnet coverage will be good from that standpoint. Will have to see how the quality holds up.

Was this emailed to you? I’ve had NHLtv for years and haven’t received any offer. I just checked their site and it doesn’t appear to be a standard offer.

^ I got mine through e-mail also. When you say an NHL subscriber you mean NHL Live correct? Did you get a trial to SN Now Premium at any point this summer either?

Yeah NHL live.

No I didn’t get a trial email. Weird. I’ll do some digging, thanks.

I got a free trial but didn't even know about it. I received an email saying my free trial had ended however, and it said I would receive an offer in the future for an early bird special offer to renew. I don't think I ever received that email though.

Another question on Sportsnet now app. Being that I live closer to the sweatpants region than the Calgary area, will Oiler games be blacked out for me?

Also paid for the early bird pricing because I used to subscribe to NHL Live. Email arrived on Sep 9.

All of Alberta and Saskatchewan as well as the NWT and Nunavut are in both the Flames and Oilers regions (SK and the territories are also in the Jets region). If you live in the Flames territory, you also live in the Oilers territory and will be able to watch any game either team plays.

Depending on which Sportsnet Now package you subscribe to, you'll either get normal regional blackouts with the Standard package or no blackouts with the Premium package.

The Standard package is the same as subscribing to Sportsnet through your cable provider. You will get any games that are available on Sportsnet nationally (including HNIC and the playoffs) plus any regional Flames and Oilers broadcasts. Regional Canucks and Leafs games will be blacked out on their Sportsnet channels (if they're playing the Flames or Oilers, the games should be available on SNW).

With the Premium package, someone living in the Flames/Oilers region should be able to watch every NHL game either as a national broadcast, a Flames/Oilers regional broadcast, or an out-of-market regional broadcast.

People who live in the Jets, Senators, Habs, or Leafs regions would need to separately subscribe to TSN to get those regional games, but that's not an issue for people who live in Alberta (or BC because SN also owns the Nucks regional rights) because all rights are owned by Sportsnet.

They won't be this year. Premium now will include NHL Live.

Well that's good news - thanks!

I found it pretty annoying to pay a full package and then get blacked out, like WTF?

I'll say this, if the NHL Live inclusion is anything other than what it was last year - albeit under the SN Now brand - I'll be extremely disappointed myself.
